While the announcement of the Disney Star Wars hotel in Walt Disney World isn’t a total surprise, it’s still a bummer for Star Wars fans and Cast Members. Disney announced the Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser’s final voyage will be September 28-30, 2023 It first opened March 2022.

Disney Announces Star Wars Hotel is Closing in 2023
The interactive Star Wars hotel in Walt Disney World known as the Galactic Starcruiser will close permanently in September 2023. Guests often praised the unique 2-nightWhen experience, but it seems many fans couldn’t afford the hefty price tag. This voyage was truly for Star Wars fans as you’re immersed in Star Wars stories, characters, food, lightsaber battles, and even get a visit to Batuu, Galaxy’s Edge in Hollywood Studios.
In a statement Disney said, “Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser is one of our most creative projects ever and has been praised by our guests and recognized for setting a new bar for innovation and immersive entertainment. This premium, boutique experience gave us the opportunity to try new things on a smaller scale of 100 rooms, and as we prepare for its final voyage, we will take what we’ve learned to create future experiences that can reach more of our guests and fans.”
Can You Still Book the Star Wars Hotel in 2023?
The ability to book the Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser will reopen on May 26, 2023 for voyages on the Starcruiser until its final voyage. Right now bookings are paused so that guests who have voyages already scheduled for dates past September can have the opportunity to rebook.
How Much Does the Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser Cost?
Since guests cannot stay less than 2 nights, the total for 2 guests to experience the Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser was around $5000. For 4 guests, the total went up to around $6000. This includes some meals and entrance to Galaxy’s Edge in Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
Your voyage also included some activities and an itinerary. It truly is an out-of-this-galaxy experience, but the price is expensive. For the same cost you could experience a Disney Cruise for 4-5 nights, and sometimes even a 7-night cruise depending on the ship.
Now they are offering some discounts.
So if you can afford it and have always wanted to experience the Star Wars hotel, your last chance is before September 28th!

What I really wish is that they’d use the structure and rooms and turn it onto a regular Star Wars themed-hotel, one in which you could come and go as you please. Disney World is still selling out hotel rooms and there are enough Star Wars fans who visit Disney World and need a place to sleep with lightsaber dreams, but can still experience parks. I’d even be ok if they added a JarJar pic somewhere.
