Hands down my favorite bag to wear at Disney Parks now is a fanny pack or hip pack as the cool kids call them. I have tried a backpack, a mini-backpack, a crossbody, a regular purse, a satchel…you name it, and I’ve tried it. Why is a fanny pack the best bag to wear at Disney parks in 2023? First, it’s in front of you so you can quickly grab things. They also call them a hip pack. And on most rides at Disney, you don’t even have to take off the hip pack.
The Loungefly backpacks are so cute, but I don’t like having to take the bag off my back, look in it, zip it, then put it back on the bag. When I need something like my wallet, credit cards, or phone that I use frequently, then I want to be able to get in and out of the bag easily.
Second, you can wear a fanny pack across your hips like you traditionally think of fanny packs or across your shoulder, more like a crossbody that sits on your hip. Some people also like them to sit a little higher; it depends on your comfort level.
Third, I love the fanny pack, because it holds my necessities – money, ID, hand sanitizer, keys, phone, tissues, chapstick or lip gloss – without the bulk and heaviness. When I take a backpack, everyone wants me to hold all the things – wipes, ponchos, umbrella, snacks, and mama’s back cannot handle that.
