Have you ever brought your daughter to the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique at Walt Disney World and wanted in on that action, too? Just me? Well enter Character Couture, Disney character makeovers for adults at select Disney World Resort Salons. You can be transformed into your favorite Disney Princess, Hero, Star Wars character or any other Disney character. I chose Buzz Lightyear for mine!
Thank you, Disney, for providing a complimentary Character Couture makeover. All opinions about how I went to Infinity and Beyond are my own.
Disney Character Couture Makeovers
Character Couture isn’t exactly Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique for adults, but it’s close. There are no set hair styles or makeup you have to choose from, your imagination is the limit! When I first heard about the opportunity to do a Character Couture makeover, I immediately thought villain.
I thought eye makeup would look so cool as Cruella De Vil, Maleficent,or even Darth Vader. However, my appointment was right before an event in Toy Story Land, so of course, I had to choose a Toy Story character. I decided on Buzz Lightyear, because I love Señor Buzz. My friend, Patty, had an appointment at the same time, so she chose Woody! We’re totally extra like that.
You can choose any Disney character you want! I also was thinking Captain America, because you know how much I love my superheroes. They can do Star Wars, Disney Villains, Disney Princesses, even Minnie Mouse! The licensed cosmetologists are so talented and creative. Come with your own ideas of what you want, or leave the pixie dust to them.
What to Bring With You to Your Disney Character Couture Makeover
I knew I wanted to DisneyBound, so I came dressed up as Buzz Lightyear. I also brought a purple bow to see if it would work in my hair. You can change in the spa area if you need to bring your clothes with you.
Different packages include just hair, hair and makeup, or hair, makeup, and nails. As part of the makeup, they will do eyes and lips. So make sure to come in with your own base or foundation. That was my plan, but it was so hot, I had already sweat it off.
I had no idea what to do with my hair and makeup, so I left it up to the stylist, and she worked her magic. Patty did the same, and she brought a cute Sheriff Woody hat hair accessory she bought at Epcot.
Buzz Lightyear turned out great! My hair was like a (fancy) helmet and my makeup was Buzz Lightyear colors with his buttons on the side of my eyes. Perfection! Patty was a Woody/Jessie hybrid and was adorable.
You’ve got a friend in me. You’ve got a friend in me. Sing it, everybody!
Disney Princess Makeovers for Adults
Like I said, the character possibilities are endless. So you want a Disney Princess makeover for an adult? No problem! My friend, Kristi, chose Snow White and bought the most adorable shirt at Disney Style in Disney Springs.
Other friends had Princess makeovers for adults, too, and they chose Rapunzel, Moana, and Belle. Check out the back of my friend Sherry’s hair. Just like Belle from Beauty and the Beast.
Rapunzel had a gorgeous braid with pink and blue colors intertwined. I think the one I loved most was Ursula! But it’s hard to choose a favorite, because it’s whatever fits your personality or who you want to channel that day.

Character Couture versus Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique
Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique is such a unique experience for little girls. I would recommend it for girls ages 3-8. Character Couture is for the girl who maybe doesn’t want to be a Disney Princess, but still wants to be pampered and transformed into a Disney character. It’s also for the girl who’s a little more mature and wants more curl or a different up do.
Are Disney Character Couture Makeovers Worth It?
I loved this experience and would absolutely do it again with my daughters! I felt spoiled, like one should feel on vacation. Plus you know how much I love to dress up. You can combine Character Couture with some of my easy Halloween costumes for moms and kids. This is also a great alternative to a full costume for Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party! Also, what a great way to celebrate a birthday at Disney World.
It is expensive, and I would do this for a special occasion like a birthday or graduation.
Let yourself be transported to Infinity and Beyond with a Disney Character Couture Makeover!
