Wondering if Season 2 of Bridgerton is ok for kids? I wouldn’t call Bridgerton Season 2 kid friendly, but there is definitely less sex than Season 1 of Bridgerton. Parents still need to be aware that there is nudity in Bridgerton Season 2 and while romance is alive and well, it’s less steamy than the first which may not be what the adult crowd is after. Here’s what parents need to know in this Parents Guide to Season 2 of Bridgerton.
Bridgerton Season 2 Parents Guide
Season 2 of Bridgerton is based off of The Viscount Who Loved Me, and focuses on Anthony Bridgerton (Jonathan Bailey). He’s the eldest brother and in Season 1, we saw his affair with Siena blow up, thus him swearing off love. Perhaps he’ll take his duties more seriously after the death of his father forced him to be the man of the house. However, then two sisters, Kate (Simone Ashley) and Edwina Sharma (Charithra Chandran) move into town, and Anthony finds himself in a little bit of a love triangle, but he’s determined to find himself a wife.

So while there is noticeably less sex in Season 2 of Bridgerton, there are still a couple of sex scenes with nudity including bare behinds and breasts. There are some shots of naked butts and well-placed cloth over other body parts. A character is shown having affairs with prostitutes. In Episode 5, you see two nude characters about to engage in sexual relations. Episodes 6 and 7 also have explicit sex scenes.
A character dies and others must deal with the grief in flashbacks. This may be especially hard for those who have lost a parent.
Some characters are seen playfully fighting with swords.
Two characters are forced with a decision to save a life which may be triggering for some viewers.
Is Season 2 of Bridgerton Appropriate for Kids Under 17?
I still prefer the Pride and Prejudice A&E version where for 5 hours, yes, I was screaming at Elizabeth and Darcy to get together, but it’s the acting and story that kept me entertained, not the romps in bed. This is where I enjoyed Season 2 of Bridgerton better. While some fans may be disappointed they’re not getting all that nudity and passion from season 1, for me, less is more.
I’m all about sexual tension, not sex. It’s just not something I feel is necessary in TV and movies. Let the wit and writing speak for itself and the banter between Kate and Anthony kept me entertained.
Fans of the book may also be disappointed, because there are noticeable differences. Here is a good episode breakdown between Bridgerton Season 2 and The Viscount Who Loved Me.
While Season 2 of Bridgerton definitely had less sex, there is still nudity and sexual scenes that are not appropriate for children.
Bridgerton Season 2 is a slow burn, and it forces viewers to be patient. However, I felt like I was able to get to know the characters better. The looks, the glances, and the passion all came out in different ways. You still get the stunning costumes, modern twists on a period show, and great acting. I still don’t recommend it for kids, but it’s one that teens can watch if parents are ok with the content.
