July 4th at Disney World is very crowded, but it can still be fun. The main event is the fireworks at Magic Kingdom, but some say EPCOT’s fireworks are even better. You can watch them both! Here’s what you need to know about celebrating the 4th of July at Disney World in 2024.

When Are 4th of July Fireworks at Disney World?
Disney’s Celebrate America! – A Fourth of July Concert in the Sky fireworks are July 3, 2024 at 9:20 p.m. and July 4th, 2024 at 9:20 p.m.
You may get some smaller crowds at Magic Kingdom on July 3rd. The best viewing spots are from the hub at Magic Kingdom or down Main Street, U.S.A., but guests will be grabbing their spots hours ahead of the show.
The July 4th fireworks at EPCOT start at 9:00 p.m. – Luminous “The Symphony of Us” with 4th of July Heartbeat of Freedom Grand Finale. You can watch all along World Showcase.
Where to Watch Disney 4th of July Fireworks
The same Disney resorts you can watch Happily Ever After from, you can watch Disney 4th of July fireworks. However, those Disney resorts are more crowded, and they are more strict with allowing guests on property.
If you don’t have Disney tickets for Magic Kingdom for 4th of July you can still get a fireworks view from:
- Disney’s Contemporary Resort and Bay Lake Tower
- Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort
- Disney Grand Floridian Resort & Spa
- Disney’s Wilderness Lodge
Last year we watched July4th fireworks from Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, but you needed a wristband to watch from the beach. You had to be a guest staying at the Polynesian. And guests were on the beach hours early for a good spot.
We ended up watching from a grassy hill. The trees blocked some of our view, but we still had a decent look. We could not hear the fireworks music super well from there.
I would try to watch from Disney’s Contemporary Resort for a better view. If you can snag a dinner reservation at California Grill, even better, as they have a beautiful rooftop view. But it’s also an expensive meal.
If you have a car and just want a good view with no music, you can also watch from the parking lot behind the employee lot for Magic Kingdom. Playa Pizza is a restaurant in the area and they have tables with a wonderful viewing spot.
If you want to watch the EPCOT fireworks then try watching from the BoardWalk area or by the Skyliner area. You won’t have a perfect view, but you’ll get the feel of them!
Should You Visit Disney World During 4th of July?
Listen, it’s hot in Florida during July. So if you can handle the heat and you love fireworks, then Disney is not bad during July 4th weekend. In fact, reports at Magic Kingdom on the Saturday before July 4th have been low crowds. But EPCOT was busy. If you have a plan, utilize Genie+, and manage expectations, you can still have a fun and patriotic time at Walt Disney World during 4th of July.
If you don’t like being hot, then come visit in January.
Other Patriotic Events at Disney World During 4th of July
If you’re visiting Magic Kingdom on July 4th you can dance the night away with DJs at a dance party in front of Cinderella Castle and throughout the park.
Listen to the Voices of Liberty group in the American Pavilion at EPCOT in the rotunda in the American Adventure. Sometimes they perform in the America Garden Theatre stage on the 4th of July.
Disney also offers special red, white, and blue snacks during July 4th weekend.
