What If…? Season 2 Parents Guide

Season two of “What If…?” continues the journey as The Watcher guides viewers through the vast multiverse, introducing brand new and familiar faces throughout the MCU. The series questions, revisits and twists classic Marvel Cinematic moments with an incredible voice cast that includes a host of stars who reprise their iconic roles.

Age Rating: Why is What If…? Rated TV-14?

Season 2 of What If…? is rated TV-14 for intense violence which means some content may be inappropriate for kids under 14.

Parents need to be most concerned about the violence and mature themes in What If…?

Animation lessens the blow a little bit, especially compared to Marvel live-action movies

What If...? Holiday Special for Kids

If What If…? Season 2 Appropriate for Kids Under 10?

You can expect the same amount of violence in What If…? as Marvel movies; it’s just animated. You’ll see characters with weapons, guns, knives, fighting, explosions, hand-to-hand combat, and more. Mature themes like grief and regret are prevalent.

There is some language but nothing extreme.

Some kids may not understand the alternate storylines. What If…? gives Marvel permission to go crazy, and it does. That’s the great thing about it. However, some episodes are dark, and that may not sit well with young ones.

Please watch  Episode 3, “What If… Happy Hogan Saved Christmas?” on Christmas Eve. It’s funny, sarcastic, and throws nods and shade at other Christmas movies. Seeing Captain America in an elf costume made my holiday.

Some episodes are better than others, but overall, What If…? Season 2 delivers. It’s a nice departure from what Phase 5 has been giving us.
