Steakhouse 71 replaced The Wave at Disney’s Contemporary Resort. I haven’t eaten anything bad at Steakhouse 71, and it’s a solid Disney restaurant choice if it’s within your price budget. Breakfast prices aren’t astronomical, so it’s one of my go-to locations for a hearty breakfast that’s not a buffet. Is Steakhouse 71 worth it? This breakfast review will help you make your decision.
Steakhouse 71 Breakfast Review
First of all, Steakhouse 71 has POG juice, so 100 points for them. POG juice is a mixture of passionfruit, guava, and orange juice, and it’s delicious. Anytime a Disney restaurant offers it, I order it.
Visiting Disney’s Contemporary Resort is fun. It’s not one of the more overly themed Disney Resort hotels, but it does have the monorail that goes through the building, so it’s easy to get to and from the Magic Kingdom. You can also walk to the Magic Kingdom.
Steakhouse 71’s entrees range in price from $13 to $21, so it’s not too expensive compared to other Disney restaurants.
One of my favorites is the Steakhouse 71 Feast. There’s a little bit of everything – eggs benedict, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, a mickey-shaped waffle, bacon-cheddar grits, breakfast potatoes, and fresh fruit! And it’s $20. It’s filling and everything was pretty good!
My friend had the steak and eggs. She had an allergy and got the sauce on the side. She enjoyed the steak and said it was pretty tender. At $21, you get a 4 oz. filet mignon.
At a different time, I ordered the Eggs Benedict. It was a filling option, but I have had better. I like my eggs a tad runny, and they were pretty well-cooked. The flavor was still good, but I wasn’t a fan of the breakfast potatoes.
We got a side of the seasonal Pumpkin pancakes to try them, and they were delicious! But with the cream cheese icing, they’re sweet, so they made a better dessert than an entree.
The ham and cheese omelette was a pretty good, but it was also a ham and cheese omelette.
Is Steakhouse 71 Worth It?
Overall, Steakhouse 71 is a good choice for location and breakfast food at a Walt Disney World Resort. As far as theming, it’s simple, modern, with some beautiful artwork.
The location at Disney’s Contemporary Resort is awesome if you’re staying at the resort, want to ride the monorail, or want something close to Magic Kingdom Park.
Overall, for Disney it’s a good value, especially if you’re getting a $15 entree. However, if you want more variety and don’t mind a drive, I’d go for the breakfast buffet at Boma, which is my favorite breakfast on property. But you have to be prepared for a lot of food!
