With so many restaurants to choose from at Walt Disney World Resort, how do you choose where to spend your money? Dinner at ‘Ohana Disney World at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort is in my top 5 meals. However, not all taste buds are created equally. I’ll give you a glimpse of what you can expect from the ‘Ohana menu, the ‘Ohana Disney prices, and hopefully it will help you decide whether you and your family will enjoy a meal at ‘Ohana restaurant in Disney World.
‘Ohana Disney World Dinner
One of the reasons I love ‘Ohana so much is because I get to visit Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. It’s so pretty around the grounds, so I arrive early to walk around a bit.
Plus there are Dole Whips here at Pineapple Lanai downstairs. Sometimes I get them as an appetizer or maybe an extra dessert. Then I head upstairs to check-in. The dinner rush gets hectic, so if you can, I recommend an early or late dinner.
You’ll find this sign upstairs and then get in line to the left of the sign where you check-in at the podium. Sometimes they accept walk-ups, but usually you’ll need a reservation. Then you are given a buzzer until it’s time to be seated.
‘Ohana Restaurant Disney World
‘Ohana at Disney World is one of the restaurants I usually recommend for large parties, because there is space to push tables together. Also, they don’t usually let strollers in the restaurant, but one time I had a sleeping baby, and they let me push the stroller in a back corner, so she could continue to sleep. It was a lifesaver.
Sometimes you’ll get lucky and get a table with a view. If you eat at the right time you can see the fireworks from Magic Kingdom, and they will pipe in the music during dinner.
‘Ohana Disney Menu
Now for the food! If you’ve been a fan for along time, sometimes they change some menu items or tweak some things. But generally the ‘Ohana menu stays the same.
Dinner at ‘Ohana is served family style, so they bring you big platters of the food to share. Remember cousins, ‘Ohana means family, so no need to be shy.
First, you start off with ‘Ohana Pineapple-Coconut Bread. So good!
Next, comes the Mixed Greens Salad with a Lilikoi dressing. It tastes citrus-like to me. The salad did change from the past (as in over a year ago), I didn’t remember wonton strips before. The salad was still tasty, but I liked the previous version better.
I like meat, but honestly, my favorite part about the ‘Ohana meal is the Pork Dumplings tossed in Garlic-Ginger Sauce and the Honey-Coriander Chicken Wings. I dream about those chicken wings in my sleep. With those you also get Noodles, tossed in a Teriyaki Sauce, and Stir-fried Vegetables.
I usually fill up on all that before the additional meat skewers arrive. If you run out of something, just ask for more! They’ll be happy to bring you another platter or you can choose which foods you would like. They also bring a peanut sauce and sweet and sour sauce to accompany the sides and meat.
‘OHANA ALLERGY ALERT: My daughter has a peanut allergy, so they do not bring the sauces for her. Also you can note an allergy on your reservation and either a chef or your server (cousin) will discuss your options.
Now come the skewers! Servers will come around to your table and offer different skewers of Spicy Grilled Peel-n-Eat Shrimp, Chicken, and Szechuan Sirloin Steak. All are prepared over an oak fire that you can see in the middle of the restaurant.
And for the best part – dessert! ‘Ohana Bread Pudding is served à la mode with Bananas-Caramel Sauce. They pour the sauce right on top of the ice cream before your very eyes. It’s amazing. I also ask for extra ice cream, because well, why not? This is worth every penny at ‘Ohana Disney World.
‘Ohana Dinner For Kids
Kids can eat what the adults are having on the ‘Ohana Disney menu or they can order a kids’ meal. A couple of my younger children prefer a cheeseburger or chicken nuggets. Regardless of what your child eats, they’ll pay the same price.
There are no characters during dinner at ‘Ohana, only during breakfast. They do have coconut races around the ‘Ohana restaurant for children. At certain points in the night they’ll hand out brooms and coconuts and you scoot them around the restaurant. My kids think it’s pretty funny. The oldest ones are too cool, depending on their mood.
Is Dinner at ‘Ohana Disney World Worth it?
For my family of 7, it’s reserved for a special occasion, because honestly, ‘Ohana Disney prices are expensive. When it’s just me with friends, then absolutely.
Dinner is approximately $46 for adults and $26 for children under 10. If your child decides to have a cheeseburger for dinner, then it stings a bit to spend $26 for that and french fries. But then I’m usually more apt to say sure eat all the ice cream you want.
I have had a miss or two with dinner at ‘Ohana Disney World on occasion, but it’s usually a reliable standby. My family and I love it! I just wish we could afford it every trip.

If You Can’t Find a Reservation at ‘Ohana at Disney World
I always suggest to keep trying to snag a coveted ‘Ohana dinner reservation. Some people will cancel last-minute if their plans change. Also I suggest arriving right when ‘Ohana opens if you’re going to try a walk-up reservation. I’ve had luck with that many times.
If you do get turned down at the podium, then I suggest trying to eat at Kona Cafe, right across the hall. They have similar pot stickers and chicken wings that will hit the spot. Also, if it’s not busy and I’m super nice, they’ve brought me the ‘Ohana bread pudding for dessert before at Kona. Pixie dust at its finest.
