Is Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom Kid Friendly? | A Parent’s Guide

Is Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom kid friendly? Well it depends on your kids and how much they like to see dinosaurs eat people. Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom is rated PG-13, and I’ll give you the scoop on language, sexual content, violence, and whether Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom is ok for kids to see.

Is Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom safe for kids? Well, if you like to watch dinosaurs eat people.

Is Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom kid friendly?

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom takes place three years after the destruction of the Jurassic World theme park. Owen and Claire return to Isla Nublar to save the remaining dinosaurs from a volcano that’s about to erupt.

As an overview, I would say Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom is scarier than Jurassic World. However, honestly, all these dinosaur movies scare the crap out of me. If your brain can process that dinosaurs aren’t real, you’ll be fine.

A Parent’s Guide to Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom

Let’s get down to the nitty gritty. I provide these parent reviews for those parents that want to know ahead of time what they can expect from movies before they take their kids. Ultimately you know your child best.

Profanity in Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom

This isn’t an exact science, but I did my best to try to keep count of the language and profanity in Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. There was one use of son of a bi–––, one holy sh–, bastards, a–holes, damn, hell, and a–.

There was also at least 4 uses of God and two of Jesus.

Sexual Content/Nudity in Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom

As far as sexual content is concerned, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom is kid friendly. There was one kiss and no nudity or other sexual connotations.

Violence in Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom

So here is where it gets dicey. Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom is scary for young kids. There are a lot if intense scenes, dark corners, suspenseful music, and dinosaurs that jump out and eat people.

There are guns, some blood, and some really gross things. If your child has seen Jurassic World or Jurassic Park, then it’s on par with those films and perhaps a little more intense due to better graphics. I had to hide my face a few times. The dinosaurs are larger than life and in your face.

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom is scary for little kids.

Should You Take Your Kids to see Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom?

I would recommend Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom for ages 13 and up. Now I did see plenty of kids in the theater who weren’t scarred for life. They didn’t seem to be shaken up when walking out of the theater. I think teenagers will enjoy this film.

If your child loves dinosaurs and really enjoyed the other Jurassic World film and was fine, then he or she would probably be fine with this one, too.

Is Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom kid friendly? I would say no, and would wait to watch it on the tv screen with my daughters. I have daughters ages 13 to 5, and I wouldn’t take any of them to watch Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom in the theaters. However, that’s also because they wouldn’t like this type of surprise scare. Marvel and Star Wars are more their thing.

Some kids will enjoy the beauty of the dinosaurs as well as adore the cute ones. Chris Pratt is funny as always, and Bryce Dallas Howard makes an intelligent and empathetic heroine.

Is Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom kid friendly? Some parts are.

Some plot lines were predictable and a bit on the unbelievable scale, but I appreciated the nods and cameos from some of the original Jurassic Park cast.

Overall, I do not recommend Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom for small kids, but if dinosaurs are what you’re looking for, then you won’t be disappointed.
