Language

Profanity is heavy in Halloween Kills. There are 30+ uses of fu*k. Also expect uses of bit*h, damn, sh*t, and a**. Pretty much all the bad words. There are also uses of Deity including g-ddamn.

Mature Content and Violence

Halloween Kills is full of gratuitous violence and gore. If you want bloody then this is the movie for you. There are several scenes where people are stabbed, shot, there are eyes gouged, people are impaled, lots of screaming and horror. Different weapons are used like knives, axes, glass, ropes, saws.

One scene includes many firefighters being attacked and killed in brutal ways.

A man is smashed into a railing and his body parts are violently thrown about.

A woman is hung on a tree. Another character dies by suicide when being chased.

In short there are many dead bodies shown.

Some characters drink alcohol and use drugs.

Some characters wear low cut and tight costumes.

One scene shows a full naked body in a morgue that is quick.

Is Halloween Kills Appropriate For Kids Under 17?

Halloween Kills is a solid rated R movie. However, if your teens have seen other Halloween movies, then this one won’t necessarily put them over the edge. But I personally wouldn’t recommend it for kids or teens in general. You know your kids and what they can handle.

There are some scenes and images that will stick with kids for a long time. Michael Myers tortures his victims – physically and psychologically, and it’s hard to watch. Victims range from children to the elderly, and no one is excluded.

Is the movie any good? I’m not into slasher films. And Halloween Kills certainly didn’t rope me into this genre and make me a fan. The story is weak and violence is used to replace anything note-worthy. But if you just need a distraction and trash entertainment, I totally get that. I’d much rather watch a ridiculous Hubie Halloween for some comedic relief.
