It’s been almost a year since my secret set visit to Captain Marvel! Yes, I was on the SET OF CAPTAIN MARVEL. And all the details have had to be kept a secret until now. Enjoy these Captain Marvel set photos plus all the stories of how I embarrassed myself on the set – like that time I told Samuel L. Jackson I loved him. But he also told me he liked my shirt, so we’re even. Right?
Thank you, Disney, for inviting me to the Infinity War Event in L.A. All outbursts of love for Agent Coulson are my own.
Captain Marvel Set Visit
Remember when I made my announcement of my Captain Marvel movie secret set visit? We went as part of the Infinity War Event in April 2018, and we weren’t allowed to tell anybody. I thought for sure soon after we could reveal what we had done. Nope. They like to tease us. But now the time has come!!
We were able to go on the Captain Marvel set and walk around while they were still constructing it. At the time we had little idea what we were looking at. We knew we were walking around an alien spaceship. There were so many turns and tunnels! Few details had been revealed about the movie, we had no trailer, but we did take a picture in the Mind Fracker.

I laugh, because in the movie, this is what the scene looks like. Keep in mind this was a screenshot from the trailer. Somehow, Brie Larson wore it better. But what a cool experience! While on set, we weren’t allowed to take our own photos, but these are great memories.
Captain Marvel Set Props
Property Master Drew Petrotta took us on a little tour of some of the props, weapons, and blasters used in Captain Marvel. Once again, we didn’t know how these weapons would exactly be used in the film, so we did our best to look tough. Nailed it.
The blasters we’re holding were surprisingly light.

We also got a peek at the costume trailer and were able to gawk at the amazing costumes!! So if you notice my shirt, it says, Coulson Lives. That’s a reference to Agent Coulson, played by Clark Gregg. He’s one of my all-time favorites, as I’m a huge fan of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Well a young Coulson is in Captain Marvel, and I may have let the fangirl in me take over the professional side of me.
I saw Coulson’s suits in the trailer and immediately smelled them. Why? No earthly idea. For some reason you sometimes imagine what a favorite celebrity might smell like and now you have the opportunity to see if that matches in reality. Just me? Well for those who do want to know, they basically smelled like wardrobe trailer. Will that go down as one of my most creeper-est moments? It’s possible. Would I do it again? Yup.
That’s also when we got to see all of Brie Larson’s Captain Marvel costumes. They were so cool! I had so many questions, because they were all green, and I’m like wait a minute. Her costume is red and blue. The Comic Book people had to explain it to me.
It was so fun to just see rows of costumes. We were allowed to touch, and I did. When I create memories, I like to use all my senses. But I did refrain from licking them (gross). See? Self-control.
The details were incredible and often there are many of the same costume and even different slightly different versions of the same costume for reshoots.
Captain Marvel Set Photos
But wait, there’s more. More Captain Marvel set photos! I know, I know. How could I possibly be alive after having the momentous occasion of smelling Agent Coulson’s suits? I don’t know, people. The magic of the cinema.
The last part of our visit included watching a scene being filmed on the monitor! It was time for the lights, camera, action portion. We watched Brie, Samuel, and Goose the cat filming a scene in the “Quadjet.” It was before the introduction of the Quinjet you see in the Avengers movies.
We also spoke with Executive Producer Jonathan Schwartz. I tried to get him to reveal secrets of Avengers: Infinity War before we saw it. He was tight-lipped and not putting up with my shenanigans 😉 It was funny, because we would be chatting, then they would yell, “Action,” and there was immediate silence. When you’re observing, you don’t speak during filming or you’ll get booted.

I don’t know how many times we watched the same thing over and over again. It’s incredible how much goes into filming each scene of a movie. There are so many moving parts.
When they took a break filming, Samuel L. Jackson walked by and I yelled, “I love you, Mr. Jackson!” He’s just so cool that as he sauntered by with his cool-guy walk, he acknowledged me with a raise of the eyebrow and a smirk. My friend, Amiyrah from 4 Hats and Frugal, just started laughing and laughing and still clowns me about it to this day. She says he winked at me. I’ll take it.
Sometimes you just can’t take the fangirl out of the girl. But he loved it. And so did I 🙂
However, then as they were getting ready to take a group photo, he noticed my shirt and yells, “Is that a Coulson Lives shirt?” Why yes, yes it is. Then he told me he liked my shirt. Bam! Redeemed myself. I felt cool girl status.

In that photo can you spot Brie Larson (I want her hat!), Samuel L. Jackson (with hair), and Goose the cat? Everyone was so nice, and this was an experience of a lifetime! I hope you enjoyed these Captain Marvel set photos.
