Halloween is my favorite holiday and Great Wolf Lodge is one of of my family’s favorite destinations, so when you combine the two, you get a brilliant love child – Howl-o-Ween! What is Howl-o-Ween at Great Wolf Lodge?
During the month of October, Great Wolf Lodge features a variety of fa-BOO-lous events and treats to celebrate the spooky season. So not only do you get the fantastic indoor water park, but then you add Halloween fun! Howl-o-Ween at Great Wolf Lodge is from September 30 – October 31, 2022.
One year when we walked into the lobby at Great Wolf Lodge Williamsburg, we were greeted by a giant spider and a fall/Halloween feel. My kids were pumped!

All Halloween activities are included with an overnight Great Wolf Lodge stay. Events may vary depending on your lodge, so make sure to check the Great Wolf app for the schedule!
Even when you enter your room, you’ll get some Howl-o-Ween decor surprises. If you’ve never stayed at Great Wolf Lodge, then you’re in for a treat! There are many themed rooms with bunk beds, and we had a loft for my large family that even had an upstairs.
In the past you were given a paper Howl-o-Ween activity guide. However, now you can download the Great Wolf app for the daily schedule of events!
My girls had a howling good time following the Trick-or-Treat trail map through the hotel. Each stop was decorated and you could go back through as many times as you wanted. One of the best things about Great Wolf Lodge is that it’s a nut-free facility. Since I have a daughter who is allergic to peanuts, it was nice to know there would not be any peanuts in the candy.
Is Howl-o-Ween at Great Wolf Lodge Kid Friendly?
Yes! Howl-o-Ween at Great Wolf Lodge is kid-friendly and made for families. Costumes are encouraged, so don’t forget to bring yours!
There isn’t anything too spooky for kids during Howl-o-Ween.
Is Howl-o-Ween Worth It at Great Wolf Lodge?
In addition to all the fabulous Howl-o-Ween activities at Great Wolf Lodge Williamsburg, there was still more to do! We stayed for 2 nights, and we still couldn’t fit everything in. Check out more things to do at Great Wolf Lodge in this post like the enormous indoor water park (included in the price of your room), the arcade, MagiQuest, the rock wall, the ropes course, and the bowling alley.
I can’t recommend Howl-o-Ween enough for families, especially if you’re Halloween fans. There isn’t anything too scary and no tricks, just treats! Even the characters like Wiley and Violet are dressed up in their Halloween costumes to take pictures with your little ones.
