Wondering if Prey for the Devil is ok for kids and teens? This scary film may be out in time for Halloween, but if your tweens and teens are not into exorcisms and the devil, then this may be one to skip. Here’s what parents need to know in this Parents Guide to Prey for the Devil.
Prey for the Devil Parents Guide
Sister Ann (Jacqueline Byers) believes she is answering a calling to be the first female exorcist… but who, or what, called her? In response to a global rise in demonic possessions, Ann seeks out a place at an exorcism school reopened by the Catholic Church. Until now these schools have only trained priests in the Rite of Exorcism — but a professor (Colin Salmon) recognizes Sister Ann’s gifts and agrees to train her. Thrust onto the spiritual frontline with fellow student Father Dante (Christian Navarro), Sister Ann finds herself in a battle for the soul of a young girl, who Sister Ann believes is possessed by the same demon that tormented her own mother years ago. Determined to root out the evil, Ann soon realizes the Devil has her right where he wants her.

Honestly I’m surprised at the age rating for Prey for the Devil. If it was on a streaming service, I would probably rate Prey for the Devil at least TV-14, but closer to TV-MA. While the content itself isn’t necessarily too graphic or too extreme the topics are very mature and images can be disturbing.
The movie is just kind of blah. There are way better Halloween movies for teens than Prey for the Devil.
As always, if you have concerns about a film we recommend screening it first to determine whether it’s appropriate for your family and children.
