Flight Attendant Parents Guide Seasons 1 and 2

THE FLIGHT ATTENDANT is a story of how an entire life can change in one night. Cassie, a flight attendant (Kaley Cuoco) wakes up in the wrong hotel, in the wrong bed, with a dead man — and no idea what happened. This dark comedic thriller is based on the novel of the same name by New York Times bestselling author Chris Bohjalian.

After drinking too much the night before, Cassie wakes up in bed next to a dead man that she was flirting with. She must piece together what happened while revisiting old wounds and tries to erase any evidence of her involvement with the deceased.

Season 2 of The Flight Attendant is back and Season 2 finds Cassie Bowden (Kaley Cuoco) living her best sober life in Los Angeles while moonlighting as a CIA asset in her spare time. But when an overseas assignment leads her to inadvertently witness a murder, she becomes entangled in another international intrigue.

Why is the Flight Attendant Rated TV-MA?

The Flight Attendant is rated TV-MA due to language and mature content which means some content may not be suitable for kids under 17.

Language

There is a lot of language in The Flight Attendant including many uses of sh**, a**, bi**h, damn, hell, and the f-word.

Mature Content

The whole premise of the show is about alcohol addiction, so it can be a trigger for kids who have parents who suffer from addiction. There are many flashbacks to a parent giving alcohol to a child. Also the same parent berates a child for being “too girly” and often ridicules him. Although the show does not talk about his sexuality, as an adult he lives with his partner and has a child.

Many adults and children drink alcohol, some to the point of blacking out.

The main character has many sexual encounters including with passengers and sometimes in the airplane bathroom. There is no explicit sexual nudity.

In the first episode on Season 1, a character is seen next to a dead body that is bloody. There are close-ups of the dead body, his slashed throat, and bloody sheets.

A dead animal is shown.

Is The Flight Attendant Appropriate for Kids Under 17?

Kids who are fans The Big Bang Theory may want to watch The Flight Attendant for Kaley Cuoco. Although this is a completely different character for Cuoco, she is sharp and messy. This mystery/thriller/drama/comedy is sometimes heavy, but is entertaining.

I wouldn’t recommend HBO Max’s The Flight Attendant for kids under 17, but some teens may be ok if they are used to mature content and if they’ve seen the first season.

This murder mystery will take you on twists and turns and Cuoco does an excellent job of making you like a character you really shouldn’t. However, Cassie is working through some issues and trauma. The 2nd season starts off with a sober Cassie and the novelty of the first season has worn off a bit. But those who are smitten with Cuoco’s character and her humor and imperfectness will continue to enjoy the craziness.
