What to Expect at Kings Dominion BBQ & Brew Fest
Before you enter the park and when you enter the park, you’ll see signs of excitement and mouth-watering pictures of BBQ! If you arrive early then start getting your ride on, work up an appetite, and then head down to the festival over by the giant Ferris Wheel in the Candy Apple Grove. You’ll enjoy delicious BBQ, local craft beers, and live entertainment. My daughter made her decisions while waiting in line for rides.
You can attend Kings Dominion BBQ & Brew Fest Saturdays & Sundays August 5th – August 20th from 12:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
Kings Dominion BBQ & Brew Fest Menu and Prices
When you enter the festival, stop by the BBQ & brew fest Information Booth to purchase your tokens. All food and beverages are purchased with tokens. You can walk around and check out all the booths’ menus have a look at the menu sign when you enter.
Each menu items costs between 2-4 tokens and all beers cost 4 tokens. When I attended the first Saturday, they had one information booth and at times the line could get long. I was in line smelling all the amazing food and just wanted it to get in mah belly!
The cost of tokens is around $4 a token. You’ll get a small discount if your purchase 15 tokens for $20. The serving sizes were a good sampling size and the beer was in a good sized plastic cup. Since I don’t drink alcohol, I can’t speak to the taste of it, but let’s talk about food.
Kings Dominion BBQ & Brew Fest Food
The Tater Tots from Virginia (they’re like totchos) and the Pulled Pork Tostones from Texas were my favorites!
Visit each booth to choose from their savory options! These are the BBQ Rib from St. Louis! They got a thumbs up from everyone!
The Shish Kabob Beef from Georgia was pretty good, but the meat was a little dry. They do have BBQ sauce bottles at each booth.
The Sweet Potato Tart was a nice dessert that reminded me of Thanksgiving! It was something different and a fan favorite.
The Pulled Pork Tostones were amazing! Maybe it’s the Latina in me, but anything with a fried plantain is a winner in my book. There’s a plantain on the bottom, pulled pork on top with guac and pico. The guac isn’t even extra!
More Than Just a Beer and BBQ Festival at Kings Dominion
Yes, you can find beer and BBQ at the Kings Dominion BBQ & Brew Fest, but there’s more! Live entertainment! There are picnic tables set up and seating can get tight, but we also found some places to sit close by.
We loved the live entertainment to get our groove on. My girls did a little jig and found their country roots.
