July 31st is Harry Potter’s Birthday! To celebrate, you can make this Frozen Butterbeer Recipe at home in under 10 minutes. All you need is 5 ingredients.

Did you know there are 6 different kinds of Butterbeer at Universal Orlando? I’ve tried them all at The Wizarding World of Harry Potter and Frozen Butterbeer is my favorite!

Frozen Butterbeer is the best type of Butterbeer in Universal Orlando

This copycat Frozen Butterbeer recipe isn’t exactly like the theme parks, because as far as I know, Universal isn’t handing out the secrets, but it’s pretty darn close! Butterbeer has a butterscotch/cream soda taste to it, and the cream foam they serve on top is delicious.

Patience is not a virtue of mine, so when we were trying out different recipes, I liked the one that did not require me freezing Cream Soda. I want my Butterbeer quickly, please.

This is the best way to make Frozen Butterbeer in the shortest time possible! So get your Harry Potter happy in under 10 minutes. We even picked up a Souvenir Butterbeer mug on our last trip to Universal Studios.

Harry Potter Frozen Butterbeer Directions

Add 4 cups of ice and 3 tbsp of salt to the gallon-sized Ziploc Bag. Yes, the salt is important.

Pour the cream soda into the Ziploc sandwich bag and add the 1/4 teaspoon butter extract and caramel syrup.

Seal the bag and gently shake and mix the contents in the bag. It also helps release some of the carbonation of the cream soda. Then let as much air out of the bag as you can and seal the bag again.

Place the sandwich bag (sealed) inside the bag of ice and seal that bag. Then massage the bag between the ice for 3-5 minutes. I like to mix it for at least 5 minutes, because I like a thicker texture of Butterbeer. You’re basically a Slurpee Machine turning the liquid into slush. If the ice gets too cold you can wrap a towel around it.

Take out the sandwich bag when frozen and pour the contents into a cup. Add whipped cream and a little more caramel on top.
