The Stars of Do, Re & Mi Stress The Importance of Music Education

Listen up, parents! There’s a new show for preschoolers and you won’t want to miss it!  DoRe & Mi is an Amazon Original animated series that centers on the musical adventures of three best birdie buddies voiced by Kristen Bell, Jackie Tohn, and Luke Youngblood. Turns out Bell and Tohn are real life besties! Tohn calls Kristen the hype woman of the year. And it’s true.

All during the interview with Bell, Tohn, and Youngblood, they all had such wonderful things to say about each other. Do, Re, & Mi features original songs that span plenty of genres and styles. In fact Tohn wrote all 52 of the songs. Yes, you read that correctly, 52! She joked that she was trying to make herself some jobs.

Your little ones will discover new sounds and melodies, move to the beat, and see how music helps solve every problem! Luke Youngblood voices Do. Kristen Bell voices Mi and is an Executive Producer of the show. Jackie Tohn voices Re and is also an Executive Producer.

Why did they want to bring Do, Re & Mi to fruition? They are all passionate that music education gets into as many homes as possible. Bell said since arts education is being cut, “learning about music at a young age will brighten the neural pathways of math, science, and engineering.” However her first ask was “So is there something we can do that wouldn’t make me want to hop in my car and drive far far away when my kids are watching the television?”

And this is that show! I don’t know about you, but there is something about music that helps me in any task I do. Music just does something to your brain.

Kristen Bell as Re

After watching several episodes of Do, Re & Mi, I was wishing it was around when my kids were younger. These bird friends are squad goals and are always thinking of alternative solutions when faced with problems or obstacles. They’ve even developed apps and merchandise to correlate with the show and music.

Bell said, Do, Re & Mi is “sneaky as hell. Preschoolers will see this as entertainment, but are going to reap the benefits of musical education.” Count me in for the sneakiness! This bright-colored and cheerful show will leave you and your children singing.

Do, Re & Mi is now streaming on Amazon Prime Video!
