If you’re visiting Walt Disney World and Epcot for the holidays and haven’t ridden Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, then get ready for a new holiday remix song! While a holiday overlay was rumored to come to Cosmic Rewind, it seems the only major change is the song.

New Holiday Song for Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind
You can deck the halls with the Guardians of the Galaxy on Cosmic Rewind now through December 30th with a new holiday mashup of songs! The Imagineers did add some custom lyrics to the tune of Run Rudolph Run, including changing some of the words to Run Rocket Run.
The Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind holiday overlay is not a traditional overlay like the Haunted Mansion overlay in Disneyland, but it includes a unique mashup with favorite holiday songs like Jingle Bells, and I think I heard a bit of We Wish You a Merry Christmas added. You even get some ‘I am Groots’ thrown in.
It is a fun holiday addition, but part of the excitement of riding Cosmic Rewind was guessing which song you’d get with the variety of 6 different song choices:
- “Conga”
- “September”
- Everybody Wants to Rule the World”
- “I Ran (So Far Away)”
- “Disco Inferno”
- “One Way or Another”
However, those songs won’t be played again until January 2023.
Is the New Holiday Song for Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind the Only Choice?
It appears that the Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind Holiday Remix will be the only song played until December 30th and replaces the previous song rotation. I do wish that they would have added “I Don’t Know What Christmas Is (But Christmastime is Here)” from the Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special.
I’ll still be returning repeatedly to save the galaxy with the Guardians of the Galaxy with a festive twist! It’s the best attraction in Epcot!
