runDisney Registration Tips for 2024-2025 Races

Registration for runDisney Races for the end of 2024 and beginning of 2025 race seasons are starting soon. Securing a spot in a runDisney race can be quite competitive due to their popularity. Here are some tips to help you register successfully for runDisney races in 2024 and 2025.

runDisney Race Registration Dates

One of the best tips to get into runDisney races to know your registration dates. runDisney races usually sell out the day they go on sale. Sometimes they’ll still have registrations available later for the half marathon distances, but the 5K, 10K, and challenge races sell out quickly.

The only way to do early registration for runDisney races is through a membership with Club RunDisney. Those are pricey though.

Here are the dates for the 2024/2025 runDisney Race Season:

runDisney Race Registration Tips

These runDisney race registration tips will help you be prepared and check out quickly for your preferred Disney races!

  1. Be Ready to Register Early: These races tend to sell out quickly, sometimes within minutes of registration opening. Make sure you know the exact date and time registration opens and be online and ready to register as soon as it goes live.
  2. Know the Registration Dates: See above. Mark the registration date on your calendar and set a reminder. I usually set an alarm, because like Dory, I forget.
  3. Create a runDisney Account: Before registration day, create an account on the runDisney website. This will save you time during the registration process and ensure you don’t miss out due to delays in creating an account. Go to rundisney.com, click the Help & Support Tab, and then go to Manage Account.
  4. Prepare Your Information in Advance: Have all your personal and payment information ready before registration opens. This includes your name, address, phone number, credit card details, emergency contact information for you and anybody else you are registering. I wouldn’t recommend trying to register more than one other person, because the system will time you out and your spot is not secured until payment is complete.
  5. Use Multiple Devices and Browsers: Increase your chances of getting through the registration process by using multiple devices (such as a computer, smartphone, or tablet) and different web browsers simultaneously. Registration usually opens at 10 a.m., EST but sometimes earlier. Once the virtual queue opens, then you’ll get a “spot in line.” So sometimes one device may have an earlier spot than another. Once you get your number in line, do not refresh your device!
  6. Stay Flexible with Race Choices: If your preferred race sells out quickly, consider registering for a different race distance. Sometimes less popular races or distances have more availability. So have a plan B and C.
  7. Be Patient and Persistent: Even if you encounter technical issues or delays during the registration process, don’t give up. The day can get long and sometimes it takes hours to register. Sometimes runDisney has technical issues and the website crashes. I have seen it all. Your registration isn’t complete until payment is processed and you have a confirmation.
  8. Follow runDisney on Social Media: Follow runDisney on social media platforms like Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram for updates, including any last-minute announcements or changes regarding race registration. Also join runDisney fan groups on Facebook, because they usually have all the tea.

Remember that time is of the essence, and you should fill out your details as quickly as possible. As far as runDisney merchandise extras, I would skip all of that at registration and you can make those decisions later.

If you don’t want to go all through this pressure, then consider running with a charity! Some charities have reserved spots in runDisney races. You’ll have a guaranteed registration if you meet the fundraising requirements. Keep an eye out for announcements from official runDisney partners.

Good luck, and I hope to see you on the race course!
