Parents Guide to THE BOYS Season 3

Wondering if The Boys Season 3 is ok for kids? Well, if you’ve seen any of The Boys previously, then you know the answer is no. The Boys is a more mature, adult type of antiheroes type of show. Just like Stranger Things 4 got scarier and more violent, The Boys Season 3 is following the trend and is even more violent and brutal. Here’s what parents need to know in THE BOYS 3 Parents Guide.

Season 2 ended with a crazy finale, and Season 3 is just as crazy and shocking. Hughie (Jack Quaid) is in a relationships with Starlight (Erin Moriarty) and works at the Federal Bureau of Superhuman Affairs (FBSA). Homelander is subdued and his poll numbers are dropping, and he’s not exactly loving life. Butcher works for the government and is supervised by Hughie. But both men itch to turn this peace and quiet into blood and bone. So when The Boys learn of a mysterious Anti-Supe weapon, it sends them crashing into the Seven, starting a war, and chasing the legend of the first Superhero: Soldier Boy.

Why is The Boys Rated TV-MA?

The Boys is rated TV-MA for language, gore, violence, and nudity which means some content may not be suitable for kids.

Parents need to know The Boys is an extremely violent, bloody, and adult show with insane sexual content.

Language in The Boys Season 3

There is A LOT of profanity in The Boys including every 4-letter word you can think of – hell, sh*t, damn, fu*k, as well as a**, bit*h and sexual language like d*ck, c*nt, pu**y, twat. The language is frequent and obscene.

Mature Content in The Boys Season 3

There is a ton of sexual content including nudity and graphic sex. For example in the first 15 minutes, you get a naked man who can shrink and he goes inside his partner’s penis, strokes it, and accidentally sneezes while inside and kills him. His partner explodes and there is a ton of blood, gore, and grossness.

Episode 6 is called Herogasm. The episode starts with a caution, “Some scenes may not be suitable for some, really most, let’s be honest all viewers…” While meant to be funny, there’s a scene with a giant orgy party in which many people are completely naked, performing all kinds of sexual acts. There’s full frontal male and female nudity. Not just one or two, many people all around many rooms, in different positions, legs up in the air, legs spread apart. You imagine it, it’s probably happening. It’s basically porn.

Characters use drugs and alcohol.

The entire show is full of graphic and extreme violence, blood, and gore. Heads explode, people explode, body parts explode, it’s a thing. Characters kill others with no mercy. Blood everywhere.

Is The Boys Season 3 Appropriate for Kids Under 18?

No, The Boys is not appropriate for kids or even teens. If you want an edgier superhero/anti-superhero show that’s more tame than this one, I’d recommend The Umbrella Academy. The Boys definitely has an audience and uses its social commentary on every kind of group in power. It’s just not for kids…at all. Like at all.

I wouldn’t recommend this show for teens either as violence and sex are glorified. There are certainly positive messages in there, but even some adults aren’t mature enough to watch The Boys
