Hersheypark Camping Resort Cabins

During Covid, my family stayed at the cabins at the Hersheypark Camping Resort. It was a nice break in the outdoors! We opted for a 2-Bedroom Cabin at the Camping Resort in Hershey, PA, even though Hersheypark was closed. Here’s a tour of the Hersheypark Camping Resort Cabins.

Hersheypark Camping Resort Cabins

Hersheypark Camping Resort offers 1-bedroom cabins, 2-bedroom cabins, a log cabin, and an extended log cabin. All cabins feature basic amenities such as electric, heat, and AC, as well as restrooms and showers that are located nearby and available mid-April through late October. The deluxe cabins feature a kitchenette.

Tour of the 2-Bedroom Cabins at Hersheypark

The 2-bedroom deluxe cabin at Hersheypark Camping Resort had plenty of space for our family of 7 for a couple of nights. You also get space outdoors to hang out.

When we arrived, we called to check-in. They have a no contact policy. We parked over by the red barn and someone came to the car and let us know our key was in our cabin.

We checked-in on a Saturday and noticed quote a few RVs parked with people cooking and hanging out in their own spaces. The cabins are up on a hill in a different location. We probably saw maybe 5 other families around in the cabin area.

Everything was pretty clean inside the cabin, but I decided to wipe down frequently touched surfaces just in case as well as the mattress covers on the beds.

As a family of 7 things could sometimes get a little tight, but there was plenty of seating with the loveseat, two benches, and two chairs.

Check out this tour to see what you can expect from the cabins at Hersheypark Camping Resort.

Amenities at the Hersheypark Campground

Hersheypark Camping Resort offers multiple playgrounds and outdoor amenities like basketball, volleyball, and shuffleboard. There is also an outdoor pool.

We had a great time exploring, and we cooked some food inside the cabins as well as got takeout. And of course we played games in the back and had a campfire each night. S’mores were on the menu every day.

Which Hersheypark Cabin is best?

When choosing a Hersheypark Camping Resort cabin, I wanted to know which one would be best. Each cabin has its own fire pit. I prefer the cabins where the fire pit is in the back. In the area we chose, those were cabins 42, 43, 44, 45, and 46.

I also felt our location of cabin #40 was good, because you couldn’t hear the trains that much. If we were on the other side, I think the train would have been louder. Also it’s not a far walk from the bus stop or any other amenity.

The only thing I didn’t like was that one of the top bunks was not comfortable. It was different than the other beds and you could feel the springs.

I made a note of it when we checked out and hopefully the mattress will be replaced.

Once the campground gets a little more crowded, perhaps staying on the outside of the loop will be better for privacy but you may get more car traffic there.

The gift shop at the Hershey Lodge was open, so we went on a field trip.

We were missing Hersheypark and decided to drive up by Hershey Gardens to see our favorite rides.

Overall, I felt safe here and socially distanced. I don’t know what occupancy will look like once Hersheypark opens again, but the cabins at Hersheypark Camping Resort are an excellent way to get away, be in the great outdoors, and keep your distance from others right now.

Sure, Hersheypark wasn’t open, but my family needed something in a different setting, and this trip helped us reset. It was a new adventure!

The cabins at Hersheypark Camping Resort are a fun way to glamp and also enjoy the parks throughout the day.
