Goofy’s Kitchen is one of those quintessential Disneyland character meals. It’s located at the Disneyland Hotel, is a buffet, and you can meet and take pictures with classic Disney characters. Now Goofy’s Kitchen Halloween steps it up a notch where the characters are dressed in costumes which makes this character buffet worth it even more. It is pricey, so if your budget can handle it, then I’d recommend this spooktacular dining experience.
Disneyland’s Goofy’s Kitchen Halloween Review
If you’re looking for the most delicious meal you’ve ever had, Goofy’s Kitchen isn’t it. But if you want plenty of variety for even picky eaters, then you’re likely to find something for anyone here.
For the most bang for your buck, I’d recommend the Brunch, because you get breakfast and lunch foods. My daughter and I ate here at 12:30 p.m. and did not need another meal for the rest of the day.
The prices for Goofy’s Kitchen for Halloween meals are $65 for adults for breakfast and brunch and $75 for adults for dinner. For kids, the price is $36 for breakfast and brunch and $39 for dinner.
Also note that a gratuity of 18% of the pre-discounted check total will be automatically added to the bill for all parties, regardless of party size. They do accept discounts for Disney Vacation Club Members, Magic Keyholders, and Disney Visa Cardholders.
Goofy’s Kitchen will feature their characters dressed in costumes from August 23 to October 31. They’ve even decorated the restaurant with some not-so-spooky ambiance.
Goofy’s Kitchen Halloween Hours:
Character Meet and Greets at Goofy’s Kitchen Halloween
After you check in, you’ll first get a picture with Goofy in his jester outfit in his Halloween kitchen. It’s a cute backdrop. There is a Photopass Photographer and your picture is included with your meal. You can also have them take photos with your phone or camera.
Then you’re taken to your table and you can begin to eat at the buffet while you wait for the characters to come visit you at your table. Another reason I like the later brunch seating is because the restaurant starts to clear out and the characters would stop by our table a couple more times and take their time, dance with us, goof off, and we didn’t feel like we had to hurry.
At the Halloween meal at Goofy’s Kitchen you get to meet Goofy, Minnie as a (bat?), Chip and Dale as ghosts, and Pluto as a vampire.
All of the characters were very friendly and took their time with us. There are no character handlers with them to take pictures, so sometimes we’d ask a server walking by if we wanted a picture of our party together.
Food at Goofy’s Kitchen
Goofy’s Kitchen at Disneyland Hotel is a buffet. Since we went during brunch, we had breakfast foods and lunch foods, which included the ice cream machine! You’ll find typical breakfast buffet foods, and they replenish them often. Again, another reason why I like to make the off peak reservation time is because the buffet line is less crowded.
Some typical breakfast foods you’ll find at Goofy’s Kitchen are:
Mickey pancakes, Mickey waffles, french toast, bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, omelette station, eggs benedict, muffins, deviled eggs, croissants, pastries, various fruit, oatmeal, etc.
Some of the more lunch foods you’ll find are:
Chicken, salmon with brown butter, butternut squash ravioli, mashed potatoes, salad, shrimp, and more.
And you also have a kid station with pizza, tater tots, chicken nuggets, mozzarella sticks, and more. There is no shortage of food at this buffet!
Don’t forget about dessert! You’ll get the famous peanut butter and jelly pizza at Goofy’s Kitchen as well as a s’mores pizza. There’s a soft serve ice cream machine with toppings as well as many other desserts like worms in dirt, pumpkin desserts, cookies, jello, and brownies.
Is Goofy’s Kitchen Worth It?
Goofy’s Kitchen had fun characters, plenty of food variety, good service, and I left very full, so yes, it was worth it for my daughter and I. Halloween is my favorite holiday, so even the $10 bump up in price for Halloween fare was worth it. However, if I had my entire family of 7, then no, I would have not paid $65 per person for one meal.
You’re also paying for character interaction. It’s worth it to me to not have to stand in line for characters at parks to use my time for something else, especially if it’s a short trip.
My daughter and I went to Goofy’s Kitchen on our non-park day. It helped slow things down and bring some of the magic without having to buy an extra park ticket. I also recommend character meals for check-out days if you have a late flight.
If it’s in your budget, then I say go for it! If buffets aren’t your thing, then opt for a different dining experience. And if it’s not in your budget, there are plenty of other ways to get Halloween magic at Disneyland like Pluto’s Pumpkin Pursuit Scavenger Hunt or Oogie Boogie Bash.
