Bridgerton Season 3 Parents Guide
The ton is abuzz again with a new season and Queen Charlotte not having chosen a diamond early on. She seems to be bored with this year’s prospects. At the end of last season, Penelope overheard Colin saying he would never court her. Colin hopes to find favor with his friend again and agrees to help Penelope find a husband.
Eloise still hasn’t completely forgiven her for the things Lady Whistledown wrote about her last season. And the Featheringtons need a male heir to keep them from financial ruin. There is plenty of gossip to keep Bridgerton fans interested this season. Perhaps the biggest news is Colin and Penelope’s relationship. But will Eloise tell Colin that Pen is Lady Whistledown and ruin their chances at happiness?
Parents need to know that Season 3 of Bridgerton does have lots of sex scenes and nudity that is inappropriate for younger viewers.

In Part One of Season 3, there is mild language including the use of damning and words of Deity like “oh g-d.”
Mature Content: Is Season 3 of Bridgerton OK For Teens?
Like previous seasons, there is a lot of sexual content in Bridgerton Season 3, including a threesome. There is female nudity of bare breasts in different scenes. A male character is seen in bed with two female partners, naked and kissing each other. A male character pays prostitutes and watches two topless females touch each other. Another sex scene includes some body parts covered with sheets and sex implied. There is heavy moaning and panting as well as figures shown under the sheet going down on a woman. Male characters are also seen shirtless.
A male character is seen fingering a female in a carriage.
There are conversations about sex including a mother asking daughters about how many times they’ve had sex and the daughters not knowing what that entails.

Is Bridgerton Season 3 Appropriate for Kids Under 16?
You can expect much of the same as past seasons of Bridgerton. Sex is inserted here and there with no real purpose to a storyline, but audiences now expect it, so Shondaland must deliver. Bridgerton Season 3 is for mature audiences only and is not kid friendly.
The problem with Bridgerton in general is the use of sex to make up for lack of story. Season 2 has been the best so far, because at least the love story was believable. The problem is not the lack of acting. The characters, especially the familial warmth between the Bridgertons, are sincere. But so far with part one, the writing has lacked vulnerability. Perhaps Part Two will reveal something new. Right now it’s a classic ‘guy doesn’t realize what he has until another wants her’ story.
I’m not feeling the chemistry between Penelope and Colin either. There’s more between the actors on the press tour. If they could have channeled that on screen, then this season would be more a lot more interesting.
Part Two brings more Penelope and Colin and it’s still not my favorite relationship. Perhaps it’s Penelope’s lying that has soured me towards her character. Her speech against the patriarchy reminded me of Amy in Little Women, and she’s much too clever to be reduced to lying and keeping secrets. Oh yeah and throw in Benedict’s threesomes and this season is just all over the place.
And the character changes for future seasons is just not the vibe. If it weren’t for the Bridgertons and Lady Danbury, this season would be trash. Aside from all the gratuitous sex, I really was liking Bridgerton, but after Season 3 Part Two, I’m kinda over it.
