Is Bling Empire on Netflix Kid Friendly? Parents Guide

Wondering if Bling Empire on Netflix is ok for kids? It’s Crazy Rich Asians meets Real Housewives of… Rated TV-MA for language and some nudity, Bling Empire is possibly ok for older teens. While there is cattiness and opulence, there is also more than meets the eye with the cast. Here’s what parents need to know in this Bling Empire Parents Guide.

Bling Empire Parents Guide

Bling Empire is a reality TV show that focuses on a group of rich asian socialites in the Los Angeles area. There are about 8-ish main cast members including Kevin, who is sometimes the odd man out (meaning poor, but not really). He’s new to the area and meets Kane, the son of a rich Singapore billionaire. Kane introduces him to his friends and shows him around the hottest parties.

There is Christine Chiu, wife of a Beverly Hills plastic surgeon and most like a Bravo Housewife; Christine’s frenemy, more mature billionaire Anna Shay; entrepreneur Kelly Mi Li (dating a Power Ranger); famous DJ, Kim Lee; Jaime Xie, fashion influencer and Instagrammer; and Cherie Chan and Jessey Lee, an unmarried couple with a child and another on the way, both extremely rich.

Overall, there are some things to watch for with kids in Bling Empire, as some of the language gets dirty and there is sexual content.

Language

There is some strong language in Bling Empire like a–, sh–, and mostly the f-word. They like to throw it around casually. However there are also sexual words like d–k and orgasm.

Mature Content

The characters in the show are very wealthy and like to show their wealth. The opulence and extravagance can get outrageous, but some kids may covet that lifestyle.

Characters drink alcohol.

There are some bare behinds shown. Also one male character changes, takes off his underwear and covers his penis with his hands. There is another scene with a penis pump and a stripper. Another scene in Episode 2 involves Anna changing and you see her bare breasts several times.

Some conversations talk about sex and anal sex.

Is Bling Empire Appropriate for Kids Under 16?

As with all reality shows, there is drama and some is scripted drama. Hopefully kids can understand that it’s not all real. So Bling Empire can be a guilty pleasure with that understanding.

There is a lot of partying, a lot of ridiculousness, but there are also some heartfelt storylines. I would not recommend Bling Empire the show for kids under 16, but I would probably leave it for adults.

Overall Bling Empire is catty, funny, over-the-top, and addicting. If you want even more crazy than Crazy Rich Asians, Bling Empire is your show.
