ICE! at the Gaylord National

One of the hottest activities in the DC area is ICE! at the Gaylord National. Ever since I heard the theme this year in our area was A Charlie Brown Christmas, I wanted to take my family. This holiday special makes my mom heart happy. We’ve been watching Charlie Brown since my girls were babies.

And psychiatric help, 5 cents? Yes, please.

Wearing one of those Blue Parkas is definitely stylish. Although you are given a coat, I recommend bundling up for Gaylord ICE! It’s cold. Colder than I was expecting. 

I also recommend hats, gloves, and scarves. The reason I recommend those items is because you really want to spend as much time as possible in here. The artistry and Christmas spirit is phenomenal.

But don’t forget about that ICE! slide! My girls had fun racing each other. 

My all-time favorite scene is with Linus as he schools everyone about the true meaning of Christmas.

Just when you think the fun is over, you are treated to more ICE! sculptures. The nativity scene at Gaylord ICE! is beautiful.

Words cannot explain how cool (literally!) ICE! at the Gaylord National is. Not only did CertifiKID offer savings on ICE! at the Gaylord National, but they also had deals at other Gaylord ICE! locations.

Christmas at Gaylord National

When we visited the Gaylord National Resort earlier this summer, we had the best time! I was excited to return for ICE! There is also a Christmas Village that offers a hot chocolate stand, ice skating rink, gingerbread decorating station, a small carousel, a train, Santa Claus, and more!!

Each activity has an additional fee, but nothing too outrageous. All of my girls were too tall to ride on the train and the carousel, so those activities are great for the tiny kiddos.

We had a lot of fun decorating gingerbread men! Not too shabby.

Then my kids spotted the holy grail of gifts – A mini Build-a-Bear Workshop inside the Christmas Village at the Gaylord National! I don’t know what it is about kids and stuffed animals, but mine can’t get enough. So if you want to avoid that, then avert their eyes as you exit. It’s on the left. 

But since I was feeling very misty eyed from A Charlie Brown Christmas, I let the little girls make a Build a Bear animal. Then my grinch heart grew two sizes when my little one kissed her heart to put inside her cat.

My girls were ecstatic and still sleep with them!
