Is The Bad Guys Movie Kid Friendly? Parents Guide
In the new action comedy from DreamWorks Animation, based on the New York Times best-selling book series, a crackerjack criminal crew of animal outlaws are about to attempt their most challenging con yet–becoming model citizens. The Bad Guys include dashing pickpocket Mr. Wolf (Sam Rockwell), safecracker Mr. Snake (Marc Maron), master-of-disguise Mr. Shark (Craig Robinson), the “muscle” Mr. Piranha (Anthony Ramos) and sharp-tongued expert hacker Ms. Tarantula (Awkwafina), aka “Webs.” But when, after years of countless heists and being the world’s most-wanted villains, the gang is finally caught, Mr. Wolf brokers a deal (that he has no intention of keeping) to save them all from prison: The Bad Guys will go good.
Along the way, though, Mr. Wolf begins to suspect that doing good for real may give him what he’s always secretly longed for: acceptance. So when a new villain threatens the city, can Mr. Wolf persuade the rest of the gang to become… The Good Guys?

Language
There is no profanity in The Bad Guys, but there are words like stupid, jerk, and butt that younger ones may repeat.

There is some cartoon violence which isn’t too heavy. Some animals are a little creepy.
Some jokes are a little crass including fart and butt jokes and are skewed towards a younger crowd.
The Bad Guys sometimes do bad things like steal things, however there are consequences.
Is The Bad Guys Appropriate For Kids Under 6?
The Bad Guys is reminiscent of Looney Tunes style violence and action. Nothing super heavy, especially compared to other films out there being marketed to kids, however, it still may be too much for younger children. I’d recommend The Bad Guys for ages 6 and up, but if your children are sensitive to some scarier animals with big eyes or misbehaving creatures, then perhaps wait on it.
With a runtime of an hour and 40 minutes, The Bad Guys may be too long for some kids. The Bad Guys is a lot of fun and will appeal to younger kids while entertaining adults, too. There is a definite Ocean’s Eleven type heist vibe.
The Bad Guys has swagger and is a great film to take the whole family to the theater!
