Every preschooler’s dream has come true- YouTube star Blippi is now on Amazon Kids+ with his show Blippi’s Treehouse! He and best friend Meekah go on fun field trips, have adventures in their treehouse with friends Scratch and Patch, and help kids to learn and explore.

Your kids may already know Blippi from YouTube, but now he has his own original series on AmazonKids+. We were able to  interview both Blippi (Stevin John) and Meekah (Kaitlin Becker) and talk about what they love about the new show and their favorite adventures.

Blippi's Treehouse Cast and Set

What is Blippi’s Treehouse about?

Every Blippi’s Treehouse episode features an accomplished guest who introduces Blippi and Meekah to a new experience, inviting audiences to join in on the fun. Always curious, the Blippi’s Treehouse gang discovers and grows, alongside their audience, by engaging with books found at Patch’s Library Branch, singing songs while Scratch djs, creating alongside Meekah in her Makerspace, and journeying with Blippi through his animated adventures as he travels to places he’s only dreamt of going. Rounding out each episode, and signature to Blippi’s YouTube series, Blippi travels out into the world on curiosity adventures to see each episode’s theme in action.

Blippi and Meekah take kids on a learning journey through all kinds of realistic ways with special guests coming to visit the treehouse or by going on field trips to real places. Katelynn Heil, brand manager of Blippi, said she came to the brand as a fan first. She has little ones and already loved the show. She says that what sets Blippi apart is that he’s a live-action presenter.  There are a lot of animated kids’ shows, but Blippi’s Treehouse is “based in reality with just a bit of aspiration.” You can learn names of construction equipment or why certain dinosaurs do different things during different episodes.

Veronica Pickett, head of Amazon Kids+ Original Series, said the decision to make Blippi into a new original series was an easy one. “The content is entertaining, but it’s also so educational.” The education is an important aspect so much so that they have Dr. Natascha Crandall, a trained psychologist, researcher and expert in educational children’s entertainment, serving as the educational consultant on the series.

“Who would’ve thought we’d have a bunch of 1 1/2 year olds singing about an excavator?” Heil says while laughing. Blippi’s best friend Meekah has joined the show, too! Heil and Pickett say they listed to the Blippi parent community for a female character. “She’s the yin to his yang.” Where Blippi is very reactive, Meekah is very proactive.

Blippi’s Treehouse is a winner for kids and families! My kids are older now, but when I mentioned Blippi to a co-worker, she flipped out. Her son is a huge fan. I have been missing out! Now you don’t have to miss out by watching all-new episodes.
