Wizards: Tales of Arcadia Interview with Colin O’Donoghue and Marc Guggenheim

I wanted to know all the things and talk about all the Wizards: Tales of Arcadia spoilers with Colin O’Donoghue (Douxie) and Executive Producer Marc Guggenheim! And then Marc informed us of the paid assassins on Dreamworks and Netflix’s payroll, so don’t worry, Wizards fans, no spoilers here. You will get info about Easter Eggs hidden in Wizards: Tales of Arcadia, who came up with those non 4-letter words to keep the show family friendly, those Once Upon a Time fans (raises hand), behind the scenes info on the making of Wizards, and more!

Wizards Interview with Colin O'Donoghue and Marc Guggenheim

Wizards: Tales of Arcadia Interview

It’s a fine line sometimes being professional and trying to hold in your inner fangirl when interviewing people you admire. This was me interviewing Colin O’Donoghue and Marc Guggenheim. My family and I are huge Once Upon a Time fans! And yes, Hook ranks high up on that list.

Admittedly I’m so late to the Tales of Arcadia game! I didn’t know how awesome it was, and I have a lot of catching up to do. But Wizards blew me away! Marc Guggenheim is Executive Producer (along with Chad Hammes, Chad Quandt & Aaron Waltke) and he said Wizards “steals from and improves upon elements that Trollhunters and 3 Below had.” So Tales of Arcadia fans, you’re in for a treat with this final chapter!

Hook Versus Douxie

I had to ask about Hook, because my daughter was walking by and heard the voice and commented that it sounded like Captain Hook. But the voices are different and Colin talks about the process, especially because he’s Irish and many may not know that!

Is Wizards: Tales of Arcadia Family Friendly?

Family friendly content is important to me. And I champion the content that gets it right for kids of all ages (including adults), and this is Wizards. I had to ask Marc who came up with alternate language like Fuzz Buckets and Buttsnacks. He gave a shoutout to Chad and Aaron, and I have since added these phrases to my vocabulary.

So is Wizards the final chapter of the Tales of Arcadia? A new Netflix movie was announced today: Trollhunters,3 Below, Wizards… the saga concludes in Trollhunters: Rise of the Titans, a Netflix original film coming 2021!

Am I little salty at Marc for not mentioning this in the interview the other day? Perhaps, but he’s forgiven, because of those assassins and the adorable story about his wife.
