Mutant Mayhem Parents Guide: Is it Kid Friendly?

After years of being sheltered from the human world, the Turtle brothers (Donatello, Raphael, Michelangelo, and Leonardo) set out to win the hearts of New Yorkers and be accepted as normal teenagers. Their new friend, April O’Neil, helps them take on a mysterious crime syndicate, but they soon get in over their heads when an army of mutants is unleashed upon them.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem is rated PG for language and sequences of violence and action which means some content may not be suitable for kids under 10.

Language in TMNT Mutant Mayhem

Language is on the moderate side for a PG movie with uses of damn and many uses of hell. There is a also a use of sh*t that is not completed.

Other words like crap, piss, nipples, butt, and words of Deity are used. 

Violence: Is Mutant Mayhem Too Scary for Kids?

Some kids may be frightened by some of the characters and mutants in TMNT Mutant Mayhem.

There is animated violence with use of weapons, fighting, and references to killing and death. 

Characters are electrocuted, stabbed, and shown in peril.

Mature Content: Is Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Ok for Kids?

The turtles are teenagers and do have conversations and use phrases more appropriate for older kids. There is potty humor and some crude humor. There’s vomit and gags like getting hit in the private areas.

There are references to milking and nipples as the turtles are “milked” when hooked up to a machine. The turtles have girlfriends and there is a kissing scene.

Is Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Mutant Mayhem Appropriate for Kids Under 8?

Due to some crude humor and animated violence, Mutant Mayhem is kid friendly for kids ages 8 and up. While some of the humor may go over their heads, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem can also be recommended for kids ages 6 and up. With a runtime of 1 hour and 39 minutes, the film may be a tad long for little ones, but is a good overall length for most kids.

Some of the more mature jokes may be unnecessary, but kids do love a good potty joke. After all, this is a Seth Rogen film. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem is full of action, fun, and is a fantastic family summer movie. If you’re already fans of the turtles, then this film oozes of a good time. Enjoy the Easter eggs and nods to our favorite amphibians. Cowabunga!
