It’s been a long time since Zac Efron’s High School Musical Days. Now he’s got his own travel docuseries on Netflix. Is Down to Earth with Zac Efron kid friendly? It’s pretty harmless regarding language and content, but I wouldn’t let kids think Zac Efron is a wellness expert. That’s his friend and travel companion Darin’s job, but he’s a little iffy, too. Overall, if you want to be mildly entertained and see some cool places, check it out.
Is Down to Earth With Zac Efron Kid Friendly?
The series begins with Zac Efron saying, “Darin and I are traveling around the world to find some new perspectives on some very old problems. Searching for some healthy sustainable living options for the planet and all who live on it.”
They visit places like Iceland, France, Costa Rica, Sardinia, Lima, London, and more in this 8-episode series. Down to Earth with Zac Efron is rated TV-PG, and while Zac may not have a rated PG mouth, the words get bleeped out. Here’s what parents need to know about Down to Earth with Zac Efron on Netflix.
Language
They do bleep out some language like sh–, so you don’t hear it, but the bleep is obvious. You also hear phrases like “screw you.”
Mature Content
There are some conversations and side comments that will go over kids’ heads that are a little adult. And you’ll get some shirtless Zac Efron scenes.
Is Down to Earth with Zac Efron Worth Watching?
Sure, this show can be entertaining and even educational. If you really like watching two dudes saying dude or gnarly all the time, then it’s worth a watch and a laugh here or there. And you do get views of beautiful places in the world. I wouldn’t necessarily call it a docuseries though.
Efron says he’s looking for healthy sustainable living options, but sometimes he seems disinterested in that aspect and instead just wants to see cool places around the world. There’s nothing wrong with that. I’d like to do the same.
Each episode is roughly between 35-45 minutes, so kids may get bored, but I could see older teens enjoying the show, especially Efron fans. This one’s probably for the Millennials.
Right now, I’ll take anything travel since I can’t do much. Show me things that aren’t my house! I say watch Down to Earth with Zac Efron with the family and start making travel lists when the world opens again. If the kids are bored, there’s always High School Musical on Disney Plus.
