What is the runDisney Castaway Cay Challenge?
The Castaway Cay Challenge is the ultimate runner’s vacation! Combine a Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend event with a race on Disney’s private island – Castaway Cay.
The Monday after Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend, board the Disney Wish and you can earn another 2 medals – the Castaway Cay 5k Medallion plus the Challenge Medal.
Be sure to reserve your cruise beforehand for the January 9, 2023 Disney Wish cruise. You’ll need to enter your Cruise Reservation Number when registering for the race.
Castaway Cay Challenge Runners Receive:
- Commemorative Disney Castaway Cay Challenge Finisher Medal for participating in one Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend 5K or longer event, plus the Castaway Cay 5K
- Participant Shirt
- Personalized Race Bib (You must register by September 27, 2022, to get your name on bib.)

I was able to participate in a Castaway Cay Challenge one year after Princess Half Marathon, and it was so much fun. Plus I miss the old Castaway Cay 5K, and this seems like it was back in the pre-Covid era.
