Beetlejuice is back! After an unexpected family tragedy, three generations of the Deetz family return home to Winter River. Still haunted by Beetlejuice, Lydia’s life is turned upside down when her rebellious teenage daughter, Astrid, discovers the mysterious model of the town in the attic and the portal to the Afterlife is accidentally opened. With trouble brewing in both realms, it’s only a matter of time until someone says Beetlejuice’s name three times and the mischievous demon returns to unleash his very own brand of mayhem.

Age Rating: Why is Beetlejuice 2 Rated PG-13?

Beetlejuice Beetlejuice is rated PG-13 for macabre and bloody images, drug use, language, some suggestive material, and violent content. This means some content may not be suitable for kids under 13. 

Language

There is some strong language in Beetlejuice 2 including uses of sh*t, a**, damn, hell and words of Deity including g-ddamn. There is a use of what the f*ck, but it is cut off before the whole word is completed.

There are also words like ‘screwed’ and ‘horny’ heard. 

Violence: Is Beetlejuice 2 Too Scary for Kids?

Parents should be aware that there is violence and gross, bloody images which are not appropriate for some kids. Depending on how your child handles horror and scary, then this sequel may not be for them. However, if they’ve seen any other kind of PG-13 scary movie, then they’ll probably be ok. 

There are scenes of characters getting impaled, body parts stapled together, characters bite off birds’ heads, characters have open wounds, and there are just scenes of the most bizarre Tim Burton-esque type of dark comedy of the dead.

There is sexual innuendo, but no nudity in Beetlejuice 2. Sex is implied. Characters kiss.

Beetlejuice Beetlejuice is comical, outlandish, and a fun sequel for fans of the original.  Beetlejuice 2 gives teens a relatively clean-ish film to watch for spooky season. While some parts are not appropriate for younger kids, Beetlejuice Beetlejuice is kid friendly for kids ages 13 and older.

Some parts of the story have unresolved holes, but overall this isn’t just a nostalgia grab. Keaton still has it as the eccentric and zany Beetlejuice. Beetlejuice Beetlejuice is a vibe, and if it isn’t your thing, move along. But for the rest of us, the juice is loose.
