Five years ago, Andie Bell was murdered by her boyfriend Sal Singh. Then he died by suicide. Case closed, right? People in town have not been nice to the Singh family.

But smart and headstrong Pip Fitz-Amobi isn’t so sure that Sal killed his girlfriend, and she’s determined to prove it. Her conscience has been eating away at her ever since Andie’s death. After all she saw her the day she died. And if Sal Singh isn’t a murderer and the real killer is still out there, how far will they go to keep Pip from the truth?

Mature and heavy subjects like death, murder, suicide, rape, sexual violence, and drug use are prevalent in A Good Girls’ Guide to Murder. There is some kissing and relationships including same-sex and opposite-sex romance. There is no nudity, but some sexual content includes a shirtless male and a female in underwear. Also a male tries to make advances on a females but is pushed off. In one scene you can see a couple in the background at a party making out and thrusting against a wall.

Teens drink alcohol and use drugs. There is also a storyline where teens sell drugs. A character sells drugs to another who later rapes someone.

You can expect mature content like murder, suicide, and rape, drug use, and profanity used by some characters. To sum it up, A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder is kid friendly for ages 16 and older. However, that is only if parents are ok with the content in this series. There’s not a lot of raunchy content, but mature content for sure. Some scenes may be triggering for viewers.

Emma Myers is a fantastic Pippa and brings intelligence and a strong spirit to her role. The mystery is generally entertaining, but doesn’t quite have the wit or intrigue that a Veronica Mars type series does. A fine teen series for those that want some higher stakes drama than just another meet cute plot.
