My family and I were able to see a screening of ‘STORKS’. I hadn’t heard much about it, but I’m always down for an animated movie. I was pleasantly surprised walking out of the theater. In my Storks movie review, I answer the age-old mom question – is it kid-friendly and appropriate for children?
What is Storks about?
“Storks deliver babies…or at least they used to. Now they deliver packages for a global internet retail giant. Junior (Andy Samberg), the company’s top delivery stork, is about to be promoted when he accidentally activates the Baby Making Machine, producing an adorable, and wholly unauthorized, baby girl. Desperate to deliver this bundle of trouble before the boss gets wise, Junior and his friend Tulip, the only human on Stork Mountain, race to make their first-ever baby drop – in a wild and revealing journey that could make more than one family whole and restore the storks’ true mission in the world.”
At first, I was like, what? We’re going back to storks delivering babies? When they added the amusing storyline of Cornerstore.com, it all became clear that I was going to have some laughs at the ridiculousness of my addiction to Amazon. And laugh, I did. There were parts that were goofy and silly, aimed at smaller children. I brought all 5 of my girls, so ages 4 to 11. They all laughed out loud, nobody got up to use the restroom, and they made me refill the popcorn. All signs point to a winner.

Like I said, it entertained all 5 of my children. I probably wouldn’t go younger than 4, though, unless you want to be walking up and down the aisles and bribing with snacks. With the comedy chops of Andy Samberg, Jennifer Aniston, and Ty Burrell, it’s hard not to laugh all the time.
While there were plenty of laughs, there were also heartfelt moments and discussions of friendship and families. There are many topics that can open up communication with your children. I even cried. There’s just something about babies that makes me weepy, even animated babies.
Inappropriate Content For Kids in Storks
None that I can remember. There may be some behaviors you don’t want your children to mimic, like calling names, being rude, flying in homemade spaceships, etc. but there were no swear words.
Now one thing I do have to say is with all the talk about storks and babies, you may get some questions or strange requests. My 4-year-old told me she wanted a baby brother a week after she saw the film. Errr, sorry, honey. So, get ready to have that talk or just make your kids believe storks really do deliver babies.
Overall, this was a very cute, family film, and I would take my kids to see it again. Storks opens in theaters, September 23, 2016! Go find your flock!
