The Top of the World Lounge on top of Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort has reopened! And it’s got some new Disney Villains themed accessories and decor. Take a look at the Top of the World Lounge – A Villain’s Lair new menus and review of this Disney Vacation Club Member benefit!

Top of the World Lounge A Villains Lair Review

If you’ve been to the Top of the World Lounge before, you’ll notice that not a whole lot has changed. But it did get a little bit of a glow-up. The space is the same but with some new furniture and some Villains-themed paintings, pictures, and accessories. Plus the menu is Disney Villains themed.

I’m honestly glad they didn’t change a whole lot, and the subtle Disney Villains vibe is cool. I’ll take anything Villains.

If you’re lucky enough to snag this room, then you’ll get a cool hideout to relax with friends and family.

The story on the front of the menu is that when the Top of the World had to close, the Disney Villains basically partied here and left some things behind in a hurry, including their recipes.

Here are some cocktails and mocktails.

I tried the Lion’s Uncle Mocktail and it had a subtle flavor. It is sprite, grenadine, and orange sherbet. I like a good Shirley Temple, but you’re gonna have to mix the flavors to get something out of it. If not, it’s pretty tasteless. But the Sherbet was delicious! It sits on a round piece of ice, I believe, so the Sherbet doesn’t mix in unless you want it to.

The Queen’s Garden was the opposite and very strong. It literally tasted like a garden or weeds or dirt. It also had a strong mint flavor and the Seedlip Garden taste went straight to my stomach almost like a burning sensation. This drink is for a much more sophisticated palette than mine. They serve one similar to it at Topolino’s Terrace -Flavors of the Riviera in Disney’s Riviera Resort.

You’ll notice some similar items from the previous menu, the most important being the Seven-Lair Cake. Although the name has changed, there are still 7 delicious layers that are worth the try.

The pretzel and charcuterie board are both shareable and while nothing extraordinary, they’re what you would expect.

My favorite menu items were the Unfortunate Souls Shrimp and the Who’s Afraid of Pork Belly Sliders. They both had a lot of flavor.
