Is The Royal Treatment Appropriate for Kids Under 12?
The Royal Treatment is mostly kid friendly for tweens and teens. Many teens may want to watch if they were Austin and Ally fans or fans of Disney’s live-action film, Aladdin.
This movie is fun and while the script is lacking some character development, the energy of Izzy’s BFFs is infectious. Izzy does not appreciate the Prince’s lack of interest to his own people’s lives and troubles and schools him on the injustices. Prince Thomas appreciates Izzy’s honesty and starts falling for her, but his father reveals that their country is broke, so he’s counting on him to marry a rich Texas heiress.
Thomas is conflicted and doesn’t want to get married, but he doesn’t want to disappoint his family or shirk his responsibilities. While not particularly deep, The Royal Treatment still manages to teach important lessons. There is enough chemistry between the two leads to know their audience. The Royal Treatment is cute, fun, and kid-friendly, and worth a watch.
