After I read this week’s Tuesdays on the Run topic (do you like to run the same race over and over or are you a one and done type person), I’m like, well since I mostly runDisney…
Dang it, is this what my running career has become? I’m a runDisney poster child? Except I just keep paying them a lot of money to keep running their races. I sound and feel like a broken record, and I need to branch out. Step out of my comfort zone.
Ok, back to the topic at hand. With there being so many runDisney races, I do like to try different ones. The only race I’ve run multiple times is Disney’s Princess Half Marathon. Why? Well read last week’s post here. It’s not because I love the race so much, but because, that’s where my friends are, and well, any excuse to go to Disney. But dang the photos from those weekends are so much fun. And I did take a stand by only running the Enchanted 10K this year. Willpower at its finest, folks.
My favorite runDisney race I’ve run though, is the Captain America 10K that was part of Avengers Half Marathon Weekend in Disneyland. The reason it was my favorite was because I loved the theme, the course, the energy, and the characters on the course. Also you couldn’t beat the location.
That’s one race I would definitely run again. It’s not as expensive as the half marathons, I enjoy the 10K distance, and they changed the theme this year, so I’d get a little variety. I’m only on the fence about it, because I’ll live on the east coast this year instead of Texas and flights are more expensive to California.
And I would have run Tower of Terror 10-Miler again, but they got rid of that one…
I loved Women’s Nike Half Marathon and running through Washington D.C., and I would absolutely run that race series again.
As of right now my next runDisney event is Walt Disney World Half Marathon. It’s a race I haven’t run yet, but the course is the same as the Princess Half Marathon. Hey, at least I’m trying something new, right?
You spin me right round, baby, right round like a record, baby, runDisney.
Honestly, if anyone said, hey come run this race with me (anywhere), I’d probably sign up. I like trying new things, and I actually do like a challenge. Except I haven’t been able to jump on the Ragnar wagon just yet. I like my sleep too much.
