Is LOKI Kid Friendly? Parents Guide

Wondering if LOKI on Disney+ is kid friendly? Loki is rated TV-14 for language and action. Marvel’s latest TV show does not disappoint, but it is a slow burn much like WandaVision. Is Loki kid friendly? It can get sad and dark, but Tom Hiddleston and Owen Wilson break it up with tons of laughs. Here’s what parents need to know in this Loki Parents Guide.

Loki Parents Guide

After Loki was killed in Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers: Endgame introduced a different timeline where Loki appeared in the past. In that timeline, Loki stole the Tesseract and time traveled. In Disney+’s Loki, we get more time travel and meet the TVA (Time Variance Authority). Agent Mobius (Owen Wilson) gives him an ultimatum: help him fix the timeline or just be erased from existence.

Any fan of Tom Hiddleston and Loki will absolutely love all the Loki screen time we get in this 6 episode-series. Things do start off a bit slow as we have to get background information on the TVA and work our way to the action. Luckily we’ve been through the slow, quirky starts already with WandaVision, so rather than be confused, I’m just even more excited for what’s to come!

Age Rating: Why is Loki Rated TV-14?

Loki is Rated TV-14 for violence and some language which means some content may not be suitable for kids under 14.

Parents need to know that some young children may be bored with all the dialogue and some flashback scenes may bring up Avengers: Infinity War trauma.

Language

There is some language including damn, hell, sh**, and jacka**. There are also some words of Deity like “Oh my g-d.”However, it’s not as much language as in The Falcon and The Winter Soldier.

Mature Content: Is Loki OK for Kids?

In Episode 1, Loki is shirtless when taken into custody.

There are also flashbacks of Loki’s past that are sad and could be emotional for young kids.

There is some flirting and romance.

There is some violence, use of weapons, and fighting. There is an intense scene with fire and some characters are killed. Loki does have typical Marvel violence.

Is Loki Appropriate for Kids Under 14?

TV-14 is generally a good rating for Marvel movies. So far Loki seems to be more tame than most and along the same lines as WandaVision. The Falcon and The Winter Soldier was more action-packed and had a lot more blood. If your kids have seen all the Marvel movies in order, then this will be no different. Loki is recommended for ages 10 and up.

Is Loki any good? Yes! I’m so excited to see Tom Hiddleston give us more of the God of Mischief, a character that means so much to people. Loki is my favorite reformed villain, but will this show us the old Loki? He can’t help himself sometimes, so only time will tell.

Loki and Mobius give Falcon and the Winter Soldier a run for their money as best bromance in the MCU. Wilson really is a match for Hiddleston’s wit and their charisma is a joy to watch. While all the time travel explanations through the show may be confusing, the mystery element adds an extra layer of entertainment. All the characters and actors are phenomenal, each playing their part in the MCU puzzle.

Marvel has another hit on their hands, and in Feige we trust, continues to be the motto. Loki is smart, witty, and a winner, but was there ever any doubt? A self-proclaimed “mischievous scamp,” we love to see what trouble Loki finds next.

Season 2 of LOKI Premieres on October 5, 2023 on Disney+.
