Thank you, DriveShop, for providing me with a vehicle to test drive and add some play time to my weekend.
My friend, Amy, and I were headed to Orlando for some business and some fun! We needed a sweet ride to get us to our meetings and the Most Magical Place on Earth. Enter the 2017 Mitsubishi Mirage. When I first saw it, I knew it had the spunk and sass for Amy and I to enjoy our weekend! Amy and I are spunky, sassy, and like to go, go, go.
We threw our two carry-on bags with no problem. This car is a compact car, so luggage space is not it’s strong point, but it’s definitely doable for a weekend trip. We were able to add another bag in the trunk on our way back to the airport. We picked up an additional two passengers. I think they just wanted an excuse to ride in our car.
We headed to our hotel, dropped off our bags, and then headed straight to Epcot. One thing I love about how compact this car is – I could parallel park! That’s a skill I lack, so when I had to do some fancy parking at our hotel, I was proud of myself. It was also a great drive on the roads. It had a bit of a pull sometimes, but overall, it was a smooth ride. It was easy to change in and out of lanes, pass the Disney transportation buses (sorry!), and very easy to fit in a parking space.
Then it was time to get our eat on! Why yes we did eat to our heart’s content at the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival.
After we hung out, it was time for work! It was so nice to have our own ride and not have to wait for the buses. We hopped from park to park, and back to Disney Springs. This really was a zippy vehicle. What? We have a 2-hour break? To the parks!
Maybe it’s because I haven’t purchased a new car in years, but I loved the push button start. Sorry for the vertical video, I was just so excited!
I also love the touchscreen display and the rear view camera system. And the air conditioning rocked! It was HOT when we went, y’all. I was impressed by how fast and cool the car got, because it was working overtime.
After a couple more days of repeating meetings and parks, meetings and parks, it was time to head back to the airport, whomp whomp. Like I said, we picked up two additional friends for the ride back, and they fit comfortably in the back. We did have to add a bag next to them, because we couldn’t fit 4 carry-on suitcases in the trunk. We could have if we were Tetris masters, but I was never very good at that game.
The 2017 Mitsubishi Mirage starts at $12,995, making it an amazingly affordable NEW vehicle. I would totally use this as a commuter car (37 MPG in the city, friends!) and even as a first car for my teenager or college student. Safe and affordable is a winning combo. I wouldn’t recommend it as a family car for bigger families for obvious reasons. It was practically perfect for a couple of Goofy girls and their awesome adventures.
