There’s been a lot of hype about Ginny & Georgia on Netflix! The 10-episode series drops today, Wednesday, February 24, 2021, and it leaves you with cliffhangers!! But does that mean Ginny & Georgia will get a Season 2? Not necessarily. I know many a Julie and the Phantoms fans who are waiting for a 2nd season and still haven’t gotten one. What do you say – 2nd season for G & G or nah?
Warning: there are Ginny & Georgia spoilers below.
Will there be a Ginny & Georgia Season 2?
No news on whether there will a Season 2 of Ginny & Georgia. Netflix has been funny with some of their decisions. So does Ginny & Georgia deserve a 2nd season?
Well it left us with A LOT of questions and cliffhangers. I want my questions answered! But also, I didn’t know if it was trying to target adults or teens, because Ginny & Georgia is not kid friendly.
When we first see Ginny and Georgia, they are moving to Wellsbury, MA to start over after Georgia’s last husband, Kenny, passed away. While nothing is proven, it’s implied that Georgia poisons Kenny after she see him touch Ginny inappropriately. Then it’s also implied she killed another husband, but that is what the PI is investigating at the end of Season 1.
Another resolution I want to see is the storyline with poor Joe who just found out that Georgia saved the sunglasses he gave her years ago as kids. It gives him hope, but Georgia just got engaged to Paul, and Joe walks away heartbroken. They need to have a conversation. Georgia does not deserve Joe, but I still want them to revisit that past for some closure.
At the end of Season 1, Ginny finds out just how dangerous Georgia is, but ultimately still decides to protect her by burning the plant that she poisoned Kenny with. Ginny and Austin are seen leaving town, because after all, Georgia taught them how to run.
So, that ending could be a conclusion and not lead to a Season 2. Or it also sets up Season 2 for where Ginny and Austin will go, what will Georgia do when she finds out they left town, and will Georgia ever get caught for her crimes?
