If you’re active in the Disney community, then you’ve probably heard about great deals and finds people snag at a Disney Outlet in Orlando. There are 2 major Disney outlets in the Disney/Universal area where you can find official Disney park merchandise at a fraction of the cost. My friend Patty and I went on the hunt to save money on Disney merchandise. We soon realized that all Disney Outlets in Orlando are not created equally. This is the best Disney outlet closest to Disney World that we found!
Best Disney Outlet Closest to Disney World
You can find merchandise at 50% and 70% off retail price at the Disney outlet, including Disney Dooney & Bourke purses! Sometimes Walt Disney World souvenirs put a hole in the budget, so this is a great way to save some money for your Walt Disney World vacations.
Patty and I stopped at a Walmart on Apopka Vineland Road to buy some supplies to make race signs to cheer runDisney races and the Walt Disney World Marathon Runners. When we were headed back we saw a legit-looking sign that said Disney on it in an outlet shopping mall, so we stopped by. It had to be an official Disney outlet, right?
Wrong. It sold “theme park merchandise, but it felt like a gift shop you would find in Times Square. It wasn’t strictly Disney merchandise. So we promptly left.
Character Warehouse Disney Outlet
We did some asking around and an employee directed us to the Orlando Vineland Premium Outlets. It’s about 10 minutes from the Disney Springs area. Well we decided to come on a Saturday afternoon. Big mistake. Huge. I suggest arriving early when the store opens for better parking options.
Character Warehouse Disney Outlet Address
8200 Vineland Ave
Orlando, FL 32821-6811
We drove around for quite awhile looking for a parking spot. Patty finally dropped me off, but I still was running around trying to find the actual store. Here’s a map to find the Disney Outlet at Orlando Vineland Premium Outlets.
It’s located behind the Food Court in the center of the outlets. I ran in really quick, but it was hard to shop, because we were in a time crunch, and it was so busy. They had some fabulous deals, though! Since I was there at the beginning of January there were holiday items like nutcrackers, ornaments, and tree skirts.
There was also a big summer blowout on 2016 merchandise.
There was a lot of merchandise to be found at 50%-80% off. Authentic Disney Parks merchandise. I saw t-shirts, Halloween shirts, Vera Bradley bags, Disney Dooney & Bourke bags, toys, etc. Some things were not discounted though, like candy and park tickets.
Disney Outlet Orlando Tips
The Disney Outlet in Orlando is worth a look if you have some spare time and are looking to save money. You can also use a little retail therapy on a rainy day or on a non-park day. We sometimes would leave gifts from Tinker Bell for our kids in the hotel. This is a great place to find inexpensive souvenirs.
I suggest going on a weekday if possible for lower crowds.
Best Disney Outlet by Universal Studios
There’s also another Disney Outlet – Character Warehouse on International Dr., closer to Universal Orlando. The address is 4951 International Drive, Orlando, FL 32819.
My friends say that they like this Character Warehouse better. It’s smaller, but there is more of a selection. However, the closest one to Walt Disney World is the one on Vineland Avenue.
I finally made it to the Character Warehouse by Universal Studios in early February 2020. It was about a 10-minute drive, maybe a little closer. It’s also located by the food court and next to The GAP.
They seemed to have more discounted items than the other outlet, but it is a smaller store. We went on a Friday night, and it was crowded, but not as bad as Saturday.
There was still Christmas merchandise as well as costumes, hats, mouse ears, plush, shirts, spirit jerseys, phone cases, mugs, etc. I didn’t see any Dooney and Bourke purses, but there were some Loungefly backpacks, but only at about 30% off.
They did have mouse ears for $1.99 which is a steal!
Also, they had several different varieties of mouse ear headbands for $7.99. These are usually $25-$30 in the theme parks!
These Disney snack collection plates were about 50% off with some items a little more.
If you don’t have a car, take an Uber or a Lyft. There are inexpensive rideshare options now around the Orlando area. If you think you’ll be spending a ton of money on Disney souvenirs, then try these Disney outlets by Disney World; it doesn’t hurt to try!
Stores on Disney Property with Disney Outlet Prices
If you don’t have much time or want to stay on Disney property, then try Disney Springs to save money on Disney merchandise.
Disney Springs has shops with all kinds of price ranges. A lot of the shop are expensive, but many readers commented that Uniqlo is a great store with great prices! I agree.
Reader Mark says, “The Uniqlo store in Disney Springs offers first-line Disney wear at a fraction of the cost of the flagship store just a stones throw away. The store is like a Japanese version of Old Navy but with much more fashionable stuff including a huge selection of anime- inspired Tshirts.”
We have purchased dresses, t-shirts, and sweatshirts for my daughters at low prices.
I also like to purchase souvenirs for my daughters’ friends at Basin. We usually buy bath bombs and soaps there for their friends that are less expensive than Lush, and they have a Disney touch! We love the bath bombs with Mickey heads in them. Plus, it smells delightful.
Have fun shopping in Orlando at the Disney outlets!
