Why didn’t people tell me about Baby Daddy before? Friends, I need you to tell me about the good shows! Since I’m a good friend, I’m going to tell you that you need to be watching Baby Daddy on Freeform. For those that don’t know, Freeform used to be ABC Family which also brings you shows like Pretty Little Liars, Switched at Birth, and Young & Hungry. As part of the #BeOurGuestEvent, we also watched the first episode of Baby Daddy Season 6 and had a Q&A with stars Derek Theler (“Danny Wheeler”), Tahj Mowry (“Tucker Dobbs”), and Chelsea Kane (“Riley Perrin”)! Not only that, but we played Baby Charades with them, and Chelsea Kane ate lunch with me. So cool!
Baby Daddy Celebrates 100 Episodes
This season, Baby Daddy will celebrate their 100th episode! You guys, 100 episodes is a big deal. 6 Seasons!! You don’t stay on TV that long if your show sucks.
In the episode we previewed, “To Elle and Back,” three months have passed since the finale, and Ben is still enthusiastically searching for the mysterious Elle. Danny and Riley are hunting for a good doctor to help with the pregnancy, and Bonnie desperately wants to be involved. Tucker is back from Los Angeles, but he refuses to tell anyone what happened when he was there. I was rolling laughing. Each character is a different piece of the comedic puzzle.
Baby Daddy Won a People’s Choice Award
The people have spoken! Baby Daddy recently won the People’s Choice Award for favorite cable TV comedy. When the fans vote, you know they’re legit. I really believe it has to do with the characters’ chemistry on-screen and off-screen. They’re friends in real life. They love to work together.
Derek: “Hitting a hundred is just, it’s hard to come by these days, so that’s an amazing feeling for sure for all of us. But I think the People’s Choice Awards specifically was an amazing night. Like we got to be surrounded by all these extremely successful people in this business and people we look up to, we had to get to work the next day but we had like such a great time as a family.”
Babies on Baby Daddy Season 6!
Riley (Chelsea Kane) is having a baby on the show. So that means a birth, and is there anything cuter than babies? It’s possible there could be a tie between puppies and babies depending on who you ask. They also have an adorable little girl on the show that likes to drop some funny one-liners.
Chelsea: So, that was something that I definitely wanted this season, once we established that Riley was pregnant. I wanted to see it through and not leave it on a cliffhanger. So, you do get to meet our baby and yeah and that was a really emotional day on set.
Derek: It was a super emotional scene for sure. And we had a thirteen-day old baby.
Chelsea: Which was the scariest thing ever. The head thing and I was like oh god, so those were real just tears because I was so nervous. But that was something I definitely wanted to see happen.
The Cast is Cool, Really, Really Cool
Meeting Chelsea, Tahj, and Derek was a fabulous experience, because they’re all so stinking nice. I’ve met some not-so-nice stars, and it can put a damper on your fandom. Every one of them were laughing with us, took extra photos with us, and even played Baby Charades with us.! I mean come on, how many stars will play Baby Charades? They were so much fun! Each of them even sat at a different table to eat with us. I love supporting a cast like that.
I did a little Facebook Live video while we were playing if you want to take a look! I was on Team Chelsea, and she is the sweetest!

What Can We Expect Besides Pregnancy in Season 6?
Chelsea: For anyone that’s been sticking with us these last one hundred episodes. I mean to find, I think a lot of story lines that were there from, you know, the pilot, are really wrapping up this season in such a beautiful way. So, I think the fans will enjoy it, checking it out.
Tahj: Yeah, and I think we kind of dive a little bit deeper into each character. For Tucker, specifically, we find out a little bit more about him and he’s in a different space mentally than he normally is. He’s not his upbeat self.
Derek: Yeah, Danny, he’s trying to handle his pregnant girlfriend, which is a challenge enough for most people especially Danny. And then Ben is kind of searching still for his love that he happened to cross at the end of the last season.
Chelsea: Well, yeah, Brad’s in prison. Brad goes to jail and I’m defending him. So, that’s also a big storyline for Riley this year, not only is she hormonal and trying to hide her pregnancy, which I also think is, you know, a hot button issue. She is worried that once her boss finds out that she is pregnant that she’s just gonna look like one giant case of maternity leave. So, she’s trying to hide her pregnancy and on top of that defend Mrs. Wheeler’s husband in court. So, she’s kind of an emotional train wreck for most of the season.
Season 6 sounds like the best one yet, so be sure to tune into Baby Daddy on Mondays at 8:30/7:30c on Freeform in the same hour as Young & Hungry! Baby Daddy Season 6 premieres Monday, March 13 at 8:30 pm ET on Freeform.
Thank you, Disney, for inviting me to interview the cast of Baby Daddy and providing travel and accommodations. All opinions on the hilarity of Baby Daddy are my own.
