About Tania Lamb
Hi friends! I’m Tania Lamb, sometimes my friends call me Lola as an affectionate term. As an ex-CPS worker, I didn’t use my real name when I first joined Facebook. Then when I joined Twitter and other social media, I used @LolaLambchops as my handle, because the name meant something to me. You can read about why I named this site Lola Lambchops.
Northern Virginia is home, and I live around the DC Metro area with my husband and 5 daughters. Both of my parents are Bolivian, but I was born in the United States. I am fluent in Spanish and come with an American accent. I’ve lived in Ecuador and Russia, so travel is a passion of mine. I love learning about different people and cultures. When I travel, it’s with my crew (aka my family), my parents, solo trips, just my husband, and with girlfriends. I’m that friend who is pretty much up for anything, except bungee jumping and sky diving. But I’ll hold your purse for you.
Some of my most popular posts on Lola Lambchops are my travel posts like your Guide to Dining in St. Simons Island and the Slot Canyons. You can find me traveling with my entire family, solo, with girlfriends, or with my husband. Currently I am part of the Sweetest Families for Hersheypark.
As a 2014, 2015, and 2018 Walt Disney World panelist on the Disney Parks Moms Panel I have answered over 1,300 vacation-planning questions for guests in English and Spanish. I was also selected to be a Role Mother for the Another Mother Runner community for 2016, and I have been published on POPSUGAR! You can check out my posts for them about Walt Disney World Resort here and here. I’m often asked for quotes for travel and Disney advice for different publications, most recently Parents magazine.
In 2017 I was invited to be part of the Be Our Guest Press Junket by Walt Disney Studios to help promote Beauty and the Beast. I also worked on the junkets for Cars 3, Disney Pixar’s Coco, Solo: A Star Wars Story, Ralph Breaks the Internet, and Dog Days. Something special to add is working on the movie with the highest grossing opening weekend of all time both globally and domestically – Avengers: Infinity War (until Avengers: Endgame came along).
One thing I’m passionate about is having family-friendly movies and TV shows available for kids and families. When I write movie reviews I try to provide as much information as possible for parents to make their own decisions about whether it is appropriate for their children and families. I include how much profanity, violence, and sexual content is found in films, including Disney films. You can often find my kid-friendly movie reviews from a mom’s point of view. I am also a Tomatometer-approved Rotten Tomatoes Critic.
You can also find me on a weekly live show as one of 5 co-hosts of The Geekly Show! We’re 5 women from different backgrounds with different opinions bringing you a live show weekly where we talk about all the hottest topics in the entertainment world!
I don’t mean to brag, but yeah, I was the 5th Wiggle once. Yes, those Wiggles. Here’s my 5th Wiggle audition video if you want to take a gander, but I warn you, singing is not a talent of mine. I also like to dress up. Whether running in costume or dressing up every day in October to pick up my kids from the bus stop in Bus Stop Costumes, I like to keep things fun in our home.
I can also add speaker to my resume. I spoke in Spanish at BYU Women’s Conference in 2018 about teaching children spiritual integrity and spoke at Flock Presents in Orlando, FL about social media in January 2019.
My Family – Girl Mom
These are my girls! No, we’re not trying for a boy. They are ages 14, 12, 10, 8, and 6. This picture pretty much showcases all their personalities. From goofy and sweet to a little shy and sassy to class clown, each one fits a part of our family’s puzzle. They love to create and read. They write stories, make videos, love lipstick, dresses, dancing, and princesses.
But don’t forget the superheroes! My girls also love the Avengers, Star Wars, animals, math, soccer, volleyball, softball, and running. They’re kind, and they’re ready to save the world.
And on Saturdays we play like a girl.
My husband, Ryan, and I met our Freshman year of college at Brigham Young University. We are LDS. Our love story is long and full of joy and struggles. Marriage is hard work, but we’re happy to work at it every day, because he’s stuck with me forever.
Ryan is a great dad! Please don’t feel sorry for him living with all these girls. He is set for life with people who will take care of him, because his daughters adore him. He loves baseball, especially the Atlanta Braves, making his daughters laugh with his awful dance moves and corny jokes, and gives me a run for my money in our family Lip Sync Battles. He’s a lot of fun and willingly dresses up in whatever running costume or Halloween costume he’s assigned for our family theme.
We also adopted our rescue puppy, Tucker, Christmas of 2015. Because when you’re done potty training humans, you might as well start potty training dogs, too. He’s a perfect fit, keeps us on our toes, is just as sassy as the girls, and provides male companionship for my husband.
Let’s Work Together!
I’ve worked with brands such as Invisalign, Disney, Tide, Kroger, Smucker’s, Ziploc, Hasbro, Huggies, Capital One, Lionsgate, Marvel, SC Johnson, and Walmart Family Mobile. I love to partner with brands that provide benefit to moms, parents, families, runners, and adventurers. On this blog, I write in English and Spanish. Please visit my Video Page to see samples and let me know if you’d like to collaborate on video work!
I like to keep it real but remember to be grateful. I talk about travel (with and without a large family), family entertainment, being a mom of girls, running (I’ve run 12 half marathons and one marathon), Disney, my Marvel love, having fun, making memories, and yes, general tomfoolery. Life is meant for laughing a lot and finding joy in every day.
