The last time I visited Magnolia Market in Waco, TX was in June 2016. A lot has changed in 6 months, like it always does. Magnolia Market, Chip and Joanna Gaines’s popular store from HGTV’s hit, Fixer Upper, just keeps getting better and better. I do have one beef with Waco, though.
The reason for my trip was to stay in the beautiful and spectacular Magnolia House with some girlfriends from Texas. Luckily I got a sweet ride from DriveShop and was able to drive the 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport. The color is gorgeous!
What’s New at Magnolia Market in Waco
One of the first things I noticed when we arrived in Waco was that parking is no longer free. They used to have a little parking lot adjacent to the store, but you can’t drive back there anymore. Now there are parking lots run by other owners, I believe, and some charge $5 or $10. They also have a trolley that runs every 20 minutes or so. I was always able to find parking on the street a couple of blocks away. It was no big deal, but I was kind of irked that people were charging to park. I guess people need to make a buck or 5.
We arrived around noon on a Friday and it wasn’t too crowded. We came back the next day on Saturday, too, and it was pretty banana pants in there. They are efficient and the lines move quickly, it just makes it harder to shop with people everywhere. We came back an hour before closing, and it was a much lovelier experience. We had to use our 25% coupon from staying in Magnolia House!
I remember the first time I came to Magnolia Market in Waco, it was just one level. The room above and the room below.
Since then they added a bigger warehouse and put t-shirts, large signs, metal signs, a kids’ section, and more registers. They’ve also added a Shipping Station for out-of-towners like me who want to buy all the things but don’t have the luggage space. Genius.
I’m in love with the Joanna Gaines and Matilda Jane collaboration. That teepee! Insert all the heart emojis. They also had a darling tea set that I adored.
Silos Baking Co.
I was really sad to have moved before the Silos Baking Co. opened. There’s a little bakery next door to Magnolia Market with cupcakes, pastries, muffins, and cookies. All the cupcakes have cute names and are packaged in equally lovely boxes. I tried a couple of the cookies, and they were okay. I like my cookies chewy. You can also get the same bakery items in one of the food trucks behind Magnolia. The line inside moves pretty quickly, but if it’s wrapping around the building, maybe try the food truck.
They also have some outdoor seating around the bakery if you want to take a bite out of every flavor you bought 😉
On the Silo grounds, I also like the #MilesToMagnolia photo op they added. Out of my group, I won the most miles traveled!
Mitsubishi Outlander Sport
Our trusty vehicle even provided enough trunk space for all our purchases. Trunk space is golden with a big family and with girlfriend shopping trips. You never know what kinds of treasure you’re finding at Magnolia Market! And we shut the place down on a Saturday night!
With 25 mpg, the Mitsubishi Outlander Sport got me from Dallas to Waco and back plus driving all around Waco and back and forth many times from McGregor to Waco all on one tank of gas. It was awesome!
Another feature I love is the Rear View Camera. Sometimes you need an extra safety feature for those blind spots and when your packages are piled high. It’s an extra precaution. Not only were my friends and I comfortable with added features, but we felt safe, too. Front, Rear And Third Row Head Airbags and Child Seat Anchors help me breathe easy.
It’s always a pleasure visiting Magnolia Market in Waco, TX. That may be my favorite spot there, but there’s also plenty to do which I’ll share more of in another post. If you’re a fan of Fixer Upper, then you should definitely plan a trip! Bring your family, grab some girlfriends, or head down solo. However you choose to travel, you’ll have a fabulous time!
