Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend presented by Cigna is always one of my favorite race weekends. I’ve always said I enjoy the vibe. One of the extra cherries on top is the Cigna Blogger Meetup, and I was lucky enough to receive an invite. This year’s event was extra special, because Cigna stepped up their game and put together the Great Cigna Race, a scavenger hunt through Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Game on!

It’s always fun to see old friends and make new ones. First we met up at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort to hop on a bus to Disney’s Hollywood Studios. We got to go a little backstage into a room where they host the Club Villain party. Notice the ridiculously cool apple hanging from the ceiling.
They served us a delicious lunch and then it was time to get our thinking caps and legs working for the Cigna Great Race! It was an Amazing Race-esque type scavenger hunt with clues, road blocks, and having to complete a series of tasks with our own team as well as with other teams. The team with the most points wins. They put is in our different teams and we were off! I was part of Team Mickey – holla!
We had to solve puzzles and take pictures in front of different locations in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Some of those puzzles were pretty dang hard, and I was proud of myself when I solved one at the last second. We also had to do plenty of physical activity and take videos of us playing games, doing yoga, and even completing minute-to-win-it-type challenges. I may have gotten a little competitive when we played Red Rover, but I’m just saying I did not break my arm link, thank you very much.
And the Winner is..
Time flew by and it was time to return to tally up the points. I was sure we had won! Well we came in 3rd place, whomp whomp, but I had a ton of fun. Really I was just satisfied that we beat Justin Stone’s team 😉 We had some sweet treats and also got a visit from some awesome pals – Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck!
We had to get a picture with our team’s boss, the one and only Mickey Mouse!
Thank you, Cigna, for putting on such a great event! Most importantly for teaching us the value of fun + exercise + eating healthy. They all go hand in hand!
