Hi friends! I’m Tania Lamb, sometimes my friends call me Lola. As an ex-CPS worker, I didn’t use my real name when I first joined Facebook. When I joined Twitter and other social media, I used @LolaLambchops as my handle, because the name meant something to me. You can read that story here.
I started writing for The Adult Side of Disney in 2013, helped rebrand it to An Open Suitcase in 2015, and decided it was time to share a little more of my personal stories. I am the mom of 5 girls. Yes, ALL girls. We recently moved to Northern Virginia (DC Metro area) from Dallas, TX. I’m still keeping the y’all I picked up there.
I am a writer (known as the Latina TravelingMom) for the influencer network, TravelingMom.com. I was a Spanish-speaking Walt Disney World panelist on the Disney Parks Moms Panel in 2014 and 2015 where I answered 1,000 vacation-planning questions for Guests. I was also selected to be a Role Mother for the Another Mother Runner community for 2016.
And I don’t mean to brag, but yeah, 5th Wiggle once. Yup, those Wiggles. Here’s my audition video if you want to take a gander, but I warn you, singing is not a talent of mine.
Both of my parents are Bolivian, but I was born in the United States. I am fluent in Spanish, but I come with a Gringa accent, which I am often embarrassed about, but I’m trying to get over it. I’ve lived in Ecuador and Russia, so travel is a passion of mine. I love learning about different people and cultures. I travel with my crew (aka my family), my parents, solo trips, just my husband, and with girlfriends. I’m that friend who is pretty much up for anything, except bungee jumping and sky diving. But I’ll hold your purse for you.
These are my girls! No, we’re not trying for a boy. They are ages 11, 9, 7, 5, and 3. All odd numbers right now until birthday season hits starting in August! This picture pretty much showcases all their personalities. From goofy to sweet to a little shy to sassy to class clown, each one fits a part of our family’s puzzle. They love to create and read. They write stories, make videos, love lipstick, dresses, dancing, and princesses.
And don’t forget the superheroes! My girls also love the Avengers, animals, math, softball, running, they’re kind, and they’re ready to save the world.
My husband, Ryan, and I met our Freshman year of college at Brigham Young University. Our love story is long and filled with joy and struggles. Marriage is hard work, but we’re happy to work at it every day, because he’s stuck with me forever. Ryan is a great dad! Please don’t feel sorry for him living with all these girls. He is set for life with people who will take care of him, because his daughters adore him. He loves baseball, especially the Atlanta Braves, making his daughters laugh with his awful dance moves and corny jokes, and gives me a run for my money in our family Lip Sync Battles. He’s a lot of fun and willingly dresses up in whatever running costume or Halloween costume he’s assigned for our family theme.
We also adopted our rescue puppy, Tucker, Christmas of 2015. Because when you’re done potty training humans, you might as well start potty training dogs, too. He’s a perfect fit, keeps us on our toes, is just as sassy as the girls, and provides male companionship for my husband.
Let’s work together!
I’ve worked with brands such as Kroger, Smucker’s, Ziploc, Capital One, Lionsgate, Abbott, Tylenol, SC Johnson, and Walmart Family Mobile. I love to work and partner with brands that provide benefit to moms, parents, families, runners, and adventurers. On this blog, I write in English and Spanish. I like to keep it real, but remember to be grateful. I talk about travel (with and without a large family), being a mom of girls, running (I’ve run 8 half marathons and one marathon), Disney, my Marvel love, having fun, making memories, and yes, general tomfoolery. Life is meant for laughing a lot!
