Happy New Year! First of all, I want to thank you all for reading and supporting me during this year! It has truly meant a lot. I first started Lola Lambchops as a way to connect to other moms and share our experiences as parents. Thank you for allowing me to share about my family. I have enjoyed and appreciated all your comments, wisdom, advice, shares, likes, and sense of community! Thank you, thank you, thank you! Here was my best nine of 2016 according to Instagram.
Lola Lambchops Best Nine of 2016
My Instagram Best Nine of 2016 included most of my favorite things! Family, faith, food, and fun! Disney and more Disney. And Beauty and the Beast is coming out in March 2017, woohoo! However, my best nine on Instagram missed my friends and running! Two things that are extremely important to me. Not only does running keep me active and sane, but my BRFs are my sounding board off the course, too.
2016 was good to me. The highlights include running a marathon, moving to Virginia, being a Role Mother for Another Mother Runner, traveling with my family, and of course, this blog.
My most popular post of 2016 was Rage Against the School Attendance Policy. I guess y’all like it when I get ragey 😉 But really, 2016 has taught me how important memories are. I’ve always known, but my best experiences come from travel. Not only is it the destination, but it’s the people, the experience, the connections. Sometimes you have to ditch a little school for that.
My favorite post of 2016 was But Stormtrooper Shoes are for Boys. As a mother of all girls, I want them to be happy and confident with who they are. Free to like what they like without the burden of concern of other peoples’ opinions.
Word of the Year for 2017
My word of the year is respect. This year I’m going to respect my readers by providing good, authentic content. I will respect my family by setting work hours and being available to them when they need me. Less time on social media. Respect means loving myself and my goals. No more guilt. My priorities are my priorities, and I can’t be wrapped up in the approval of others. I will respect people and their opinions. As we get ready to welcome a new President and perhaps uncertain times, I will be respectful. This is how we can move on with peace. I will do my part to make a change.
So friends, do you have a theme or word for 2017? What would you like to see on Lola Lambchops this year? I’d love to hear from you!
