This week’s topic for Tuesdays on the Run is a little more self-reflective. How are you different from when you started blogging? Well, when I started blogging in 2013 for another site, it was all Disney, all the time.
Add in answering questions for the Disney Parks Moms Panel in 2014 and 2015, I was drowning in pixie dust. Not that that’s a bad thing. Pixie dust is magical, after all. But all magic comes with a price.
Sometimes that price is family time. So I wanted to do things on my own terms. Write what I wanted, when I wanted. Be a girl boss.
And I did that. I started Lola Lambchops this year as a family/travel/running blog. Those were the things that naturally fit in my life. I was also chosen to be a Role Mother for Another Mother Runner, which has been great! It’s also inspired me to keep running. I am the Sputterer, and true to my name, I sputter. However, I keep going. And as a mother runner, I have to find the time to take care of my family and take care of myself.
So while these are all relevant topics, I also want to make a difference. Sometimes that includes ridiculous things like Bus Stop Costumes or Lip Sync Battles. I want to show people that life is fun! That kindness matters. That being who you are is perfect. That enjoying our children is one of the best things in life. That parenting can be messy. That love trumps hate every time. That big families are pretty dang cool.
So how am I different? I’m still figuring it all out. I’d like to say I know who I am a little better and what the most important things are to me. If there’s anything you want to read or a question you need answered, please let me know! I’m always looking for new topics to write about. And I love connecting with people. Friendships have been the best thing about running, Disney, traveling, and blogging.
