If you know me, you know I have been DYING to see Captain America: Civil War. Like counting the days. Friendships have been weakened with my allegiance to #TeamCap, but alas, it’s the sacrifices you have to make.
Captain America: Civil War did not disappoint. Believe all the hype. It’s true. All of it.
Here’s a quick video review for the moms (is it kid-friendly?) and a few overall impressions. No spoilers!
Synopsis
Marvel’s “Captain America: Civil War” finds Steve Rogers leading the newly formed team of Avengers in their continued efforts to safeguard humanity. But another another incident involving the Avengers results in collateral damage, political pressure mounts to install a system of accountability, headed by a governing body to oversee and direct the team. The new status quo fractures the Avengers, resulting in two camps—one led by Steve Rogers and his desire for the Avengers to remain free to defend humanity without government interference, and the other following Tony Stark’s surprising decision to support government oversight and accountability.
Highlights
The Action – So many great action scenes. I was on the edge of my seat for some, hiding my face for others, and cheering and clapping for the rest.
Paul Rudd (Ant-Man) – There are some funny Avengers. Falcon had some good lines and you can always count on Iron Man for some sarcastic wit. But Ant-Man was a crowd pleaser and a scene stealer. I love a good snort laugh.
New Characters-Black Panther, Spider-Man, and Sharon Carter were all important in their own way. It made me more excited to see the new Spider-Man and Black Panther movies.
Humor– See Paul Rudd above.

I really enjoyed every minute, but the best was the development of the characters and their story lines. Although there are a lot of different character plots, I never felt lost or like something didn’t fit. The Marvel Universe always finds a way to weave everything together.
“If we can’t accept limitations, we’re no better than the bad guys.”—Tony Stark
“That’s not the way I see it.”—Steve Rogers
How often do we have disagreements or arguments with loved ones? Are we blinded by arrogance, ego, pride, loyalty, or love? Not only does Captain America: Civil War entertain, but it makes me think about where my priorities lie. Hands down, my favorite Marvel film to date.
And just because I always have to say it…Team Cap!

Movie Review: Is Doctor Strange Kid Friendly? - Lola Lambchops
Friday 4th of November 2016
[…] My Marvel love is no surprise, and I was super excited when they announced DOCTOR STRANGE. Out of all the Marvel Universe Characters, I am the least familiar with Doctor Strange’s story. I imagine this to be the case for most children, too, unless they are die-hard comic book fans. As usual with my movie reviews, I answer the question, is DOCTOR STRANGE kid friendly? You know, from a mom’s point of view. […]
